Crave inducts Pinball Hall of Fame sequel

Williams Collection of eight historic tables set to arrive on Wii, PS2, and PSP later this year.

With the destruction of their natural habitat, the giant beasts known as pinball machines that once dominated the arcade landscape are a dying breed. They're also prime fodder for digital preservation, because Crave Entertainment today announced a follow-up to its 2004 and 2005 console and handheld versions of Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection.

Set for release later this year, Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection collects eight of the manufacturer's tables from decades past into a compilation for release on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and Wii. Among the tables included are Black Knight, Space Shuttle, and Gorgar. FarSight Studios, the company behind the first Pinball Hall of Fame game, will also be handling development of the follow-up.

I love arcade games... and hopefully this one will play well. I'll get it if it's bargain-priced, but I wouldn't pay $50 for it.

I might get the PSP version too... especially if the Wii version isn't good and/or you can somehow play the game holding the PSP vertically to see the whole table at once.

I think the only pinball machine you need is The Addams Family pinball machine the movie from 1991 . My friends and I on our lunch break used to play this pinball machine everyday. I wish I could own this one. It is the most entertaining with sounds from the movie and challenges from the movie. I am telling you if they do not put this one on this disk do not buy it. It really is the only pinball machine to own it goes any were from $3,000 to $6,000 on Ebay and that is with all the upgrades and the Gold mod. If I lived in a house it would be in my basement and i would not be writing this, I would be playing it right now! Peace Out!

This is going to include Pin-Bot as well, which is the best news I've heard in a while.

I'm really glad to see a new pinball game coming out. I only wish it was being released for the PC as well but I'll be happy to play it on my Wii. Pinball is a dying game and it really is a shame. In short, I cannot wait for this game to come out. Yeah!

"GIJesse77 - How come everything that comes out for last generation, comes out for wii too?"

Because the Wii REALLY IS Last Generation - and I have one at home that I haven't played with since early January. The Wii graphics on my HDTV sucked so much that it's hard to go back once you've experienced the Hi-Def power of the Xbox360 (I know that the POS3 has Hi-Def also, but until the price gets cut in half - to where the system is actually worth it - I'm going nowhere near it).
