New media: Paris-Dakar Rally

Acclaim has released several new screenshots from Paris-Dakar Rally for the Sony PlayStation 2. The game simulates the weeklong Paris-Dakar Rally event, which winds through Europe and portions of Africa. A variety of vehicles will be available in the game, including SUVs, ATV quads, and motocross bikes. The actual race spans 16 stages through six countries, and the video game version should follow that format. Paris-Dakar Rally has currently been confirmed only for the European PlayStation 2. It will be released in that territory in Q3 2001. A North American release has not been discussed.
