Conan, Stuntman, MX vs. ATV dated

THQ's barbarian adventure to arrive in October, Ignition firing up August 28, off-road racer moves up to December.

When the release dates of anticipated games change, it's usually not for the sooner. However, in a conference call with investors today following its first-quarter earnings report, THQ narrowed down the release windows for a number of its projects, including two that are expected to beat their originally announced launch dates.

While Conan for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 was originally set for an early 2008 release, the literary barbarian is not about to miss the retail bloodbath that will be this holiday season. Caring not about the opposition of Grand Theft Auto IV or Halo 3, the Cimmerian will enter the fray in October, THQ CEO Brian Farrell confirmed.

MX vs. ATV Untamed is similarly speeding its way onto store shelves; Farrell pegged the next installment in the off-road racing series as a December release. At last month's E3 Media and Business Summit, the game had been given a January 2008 release date. Farrell also said that the Wii version of the game would include support for Nintendo's upcoming steering-wheel peripheral, set to be introduced with Mario Kart Wii.

Finally, Farrell nailed down an exact release date for Stuntman Ignition on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PlayStation 2. The publisher's first try at the series since acquiring the property from Atari last year will drop August 28.

Wow, there are really TOO MANY GAMES coming out in Q4 of 2007. Kinda ridiculous, I bet many of them are going to get overlooked (Points at Quake Wars)

Conan looks good.. ATV looks good too. Stuntman however plays shoddy and has hardly any replay value. I kind of wish they'd have gone more open ended than they did. Although they've still got time..

So many potentially good games will not sell this fall, because there are too many games coming in a 3 month period.

Remember in the 16-bit era when a box had the THQ logo you had to run in the opposite direction and take a shower as soon as possible.

I wish Conan and THQ well, and I hope it proves any and all naysayers wrong, but it will be difficult competing against the likes of Halo 3 and GTA IV.

I really want a good ATV game for my 360, but the graphics look more like the first xbox. Hopefully the game will look a lot better by december.

Sweet. I wouldn't mind picking up Stuntman on the 360. I haven't played the series in a few years.

Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!

i was really looking forward to Conan until i read this article. i cant believe another title for the "next-gen" consoles is being rushed out! why cant the developers of these games understand that its about quality??!!?? isnt it obvious by now that games that are well made leave a good lasting impression and make people want to get more games from that publisher/developer???? so many games have been rushed out since the inception of this current generation of gaming only to suffer for it. Saints Row is the first one that comes to mind, and it was a THQ title come to think of it. i still enjoy that game, but it also would have been a gem of a game had it had some more time and money invested into it. we as gamers should make a stand some how. the game makers keep dropping these duds into our laps and we keep taking what they give us no questions asked. Conan had much potential, and still does, but with this latest turn of events it seems that that potential will get flushed right down the tubes. im starting to hate this "next-generation" of gaming. its all about the cash flow for the companies and has nothing to do with the enjoyment for the gamers.

I'm really looking forward to Conan. It's not the top game on my list, not really in the top 5 but you cannot really fault it with this holiday season, but I'm worried about THQ bringing it out early because their sales are sluggish...

That's not how an 'Okay game' game gets polished up to an good or excellent game...

Conan does look exactly like a GoW game, and that's a good thing. I hope THQ gets it right this time.

As much as I hate to hear about a title being postponed, hearing that a title is going to be released sooner just to hit the holiday rush makes me cringe. I hope the games are done when they are released.
