Winback 2 lands release date

Koei's superagent game heads to the PlayStation 2 and Xbox April 18; game sees agents protecting the country from terrorists.

The bad news is that Koei believes a terrorist attack will hit North America on April 18. The good news is that Craig Contrell and two other superoperatives will begin stopping it in its tracks that same day. Koei has announced that Winback 2: Project Poseidon will ship to retailers that day for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. There are 30 missions in the game, and each can be played through different perspectives. Winback 2: Project Poseidon is rated T for Teen and was developed by Cavia Inc. No pricing has been announced.

Cool. I can wait for this game to come out.

I own Winback: Covert Operations for PS2 & I loved it. I also own an XBOX 360 so I will purchase Winback 2 when it becomes BC on XBOX 360.

I knew a sequel was in the works, but I didn't know it was coming out so soon. Anyway, the first one was cool. Anyone who liked RE4 should like this game because the basic gameplay was taken straight from Winback 1, right down to the camera and precision aiming. The only difference is that the enemies in Winback actually put up a good fight.

What the?! Wow, this totally came out of no where. I was surprised to see the original Winback ported to so many systems, think it went from N64 to Dreamcast to PS2. Being Playstation-less back in the day, I too was a HUGE fan of the original Winback. I loved that game and used to rent it from Blockbuster all the time. Never got around to buying it, but now that I hear about a sequel, it has me interested in tracking down a copy of the original, or finding one of the other two versions which I believe are pretty uncommon. I'm interested in seeing how this game turns out. I'll be surprised if it gets anything higher than a 7.0, but if it does I'll probably buy it just for the heck of it.

Why make a sequel to such a disappointing game? Koei must've run out of innovativation.. their DWs prove my point. This game will be a FLOP, and i hope i'm wrong about that. Please prove me wrong Koei, please!

I've had visits to the dentist that were more fun than WInback.... The resources used to make this game should have been put to better use...

I agree with THF2, Winback: Covert Operations (the original) was a sleeper hit from five or six years ago, and we all of a sudden here of a sequel. I sure hope that the mission sare long because thirty isn't too much.

The multiplayer wasn't too bad in the first one (N64). The stages were just too damn small. I'd much rather play a good third-person shooter than first-person, so maybe I'll be preasantly surprised. Doubtful...but just maybe. It could also use some variety as far as weapons go. I think the first one only had like three types of guns.
