First shots: Virtua Cop Re-Birth
Sega releases shots from its PS2-bound gun game remake.
Sega of Japan has released the first screenshots from its upcoming remakes of Virtua Cop and Virtua Cop 2, which will be bundled together and released on the PlayStation 2 as Virtua Cop Re-Birth in Japan. In addition to the two arcade games, Re-Birth will also feature a target-shooting exercise for one or two players. An art gallery will also be included, and new artwork will be unlocked as players progress through the main game.
Virtua Cop Re-Birth is scheduled to be released in Japan on August 15. Sega of America has made no official announcement regarding a US release, but some domestic retailers are listing the game as coming out later this year.
