GameSpot has acquired several new screenshots of Silpheed: The Lost Planet for the Sony PlayStation 2. Silpheed is a top-down scrolling shooter with 3D background elements. According to Game Arts, the gameplay will be both entertaining and intuitive, thus appealing to gaming audiences of all abilities. Silpheed first appeared on the NEC PC88, and it was later released on the Sega CD.

Developed by Game Arts and published by Capcom on the PS2, Silpheed is set for a late summer 2000 release in Japan.
