AU Shippin' Out April 28-May 2: Grand Theft Auto IV

GTAIV launches down under.

Grand Theft Auto IV will be making its Aussie public debut tonight at midnight. In pursuit of the American Dream, Niko Bellic, an Eastern European expatriate, has come to Liberty City on the advice of his wealthy cousin Roman. For the first time ever in the franchise’s history, Grand Theft Auto IV will feature online multiplayer over both Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. Both versions support up to 16 players and have 15 different gameplay modes ranging from team deathmatch to VIP-style escort-based mods. Like previous games in the series, GTAIV will feature an extensive playlist for its radio station, with the confirmed artists including Queen, Blink 182, Kanye West, and the late Barry White. Rockstar Games are going against the normal Thursday/Friday releases, with GTAIV coming out tomorrow. Most specialty game outlets will be doing a midnight launch tonight.

This week also sees the release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Game of the Year Edition on Wednesday for the Xbox 360. A PS3 version has been confirmed to follow later on this year, but no word has been said about a PC equivalent.

    wth?? why is IRON MAN being released earlier in australia? the release date for IRON MAN in the US is may 2, but the release date in australia is may 1. what is this blasphemy?

    GTA IV is going to be amazing,can't wait to get my hands on a copy!The free-roam online mode sounds amazing.Imagine driving around Liberty City,poppin' some caps either with or on your friends.Hellz yes!!!!!!The only problem is quite a few teenagers whose parents don't mind violent videogames can't get GTA IV in specific because of the prostitutes and all,I'm not sure if sales would be better with the option of a "no-sex"version of the game.It would be much less controversial.But then again,wouldn't adults be mad about the de-grading even though they have the option to keep the "sex" in and then sales will actually decrease instead?Nonetheless,I don't think they'll ever make a prostitute-less version of GTA ever,so forget that.This game will totally own!!!!!!!!!

    Biggest thing since Halo 3, but console fans loved action games way before first person shooters. This is justa about everything you need in a game

    wow.. after GTA its a crap next couple of months... guess there wont be another good game (in my opinion..) until June 12 when MGS 4 is released.
