Japanese Famitsu magazine is reporting that a new Gundam action game is being developed for the Sony PlayStation 2. Titled Gundam: G-Saviour, the game is based on a CG/Live-Action television show that will debut this summer in Japan. The game will feature a new hero to the Gundam series, named Reed Fox, and a new lineup of mechs. It will focus more on mission-based ground battle, as it features missile attacks and a beam rifle for close combat.

The game will be released in late-summer 2000 in Japan for 7,800 yen. It is being developed to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Gundam series and will be on the DVD ROM format.
