SCEE announces B-Boy for PS2, PSP

FreeStyleGames' competitive hip-hop dancing game scheduled to arrive on European Sony platforms in September.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today announced that it will publish B-Boy for the PlayStation 2 and the PlayStation Portable in September. Developed by FreeStyleGames in collaboration with DJ Hooch and Crazy Legs (of the Rock Steady Crew), B-Boy is a hip-hop-themed competitive dancing game in which you'll get to battle against real-life crews and B-boy superstars.

"B-boy culture is one of the four core elements of hip-hop, and the teams at SCEE and FreeStyleGames have managed to put together this game in a way that means the hip-hop community can be sure that the integrity and art of B-boying won't be compromised," said Crazy Legs. "It's great to know that they have actively sought out the real B-boys that make the scene what it is today to make this game happen."

In addition to a number of different arcade modes that you can jump into for instant head-to-head contests (including wireless play for the PlayStation Portable version), B-Boy will feature a single-player "B-Boy Life" mode in which you'll get to create your own breaker and form your own crew. As you progress through the game, you'll be able to upgrade your breaker by learning up to 800 motion-captured moves. As your crew earns respect in competitions at 21 venues from all over the world, you'll encounter around 40 rival B-boy superstars, including the likes of Kamel, Ivan "The Urban Action Figure", Crumbs, Hong10, Lillou, and Mouse.

B-Boy is currently scheduled for release in Europe in September, but no North American release has been confirmed at this time. We'll bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.

If you dont bboy or know what true bboying is(not that KOREAN 4 DA WIN *crap or americans are ignorant bullstih*this mainly towards those who are american but deny it because they're slaves to the media*), then dont waste peoples time posting stih on here or saying something like "its called breakdancing not bboying" the truth is the media coined it breakdancing so in a way its like a double edge sword meant to serve as a diss or showing those fake bboys or bgirls out in the crowd just jumping in cuz they follow fads(basically slaves of the crowd). btw I hope this game comes to america but if i dont see "the prince" as a character in this game, I'll show Legs a peace of my mind. dont be into bboying become it otherwise go kill yourself and save us the trouble.jk or not

^ Exactly, how do you @_@

    But regardless:
Is this a sort of... breakdancing?
Breakdancing is also known as B-Boying, and it is a part of hip-hop. So it isn't similar to breakdancing, it IS breakdancing. People who breakdance are known as B-Boy or B-Girls.
