Justin Calvert turns into a mutant in this video review for Prototype. All gameplay footage is from X360 version.
This guy is the least charismatic human I have ever had to listen to. I think the medium of games reviews has been set back by his grey voice.
Does thos control well for the PC? Or should I get it for the 360. Also, is the story good? He didn't really talk about it.
I dislike open world games. Always prefer more directed experiences. The brutal combat of this game totally compensated for that, plus it can be as linear as I want if just do the story missions.
The first time I saw the full armor it instantly reminded me of the Guyver. I think they got a lot of their inspiration from that character.
Its petty but the only reason i don't wanna get this is because i don't want to give Activision anymore money.
Meh, I'd give it a seven simply because the developers simply took Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and ripped all of the lighthearted humor out of it. I mean seriously, I played this game and it felt like the game I had been playing for years on the PS2.
He makes it look repititive but it's not....There are more gameplay moves than these that he is showing!
Saying that one game is ripping off another and referring to the release dates is stupid. Because a game came out a month or a few weeks before a game doesn't mean that it began development at the same time nor took the same time to develop.
It was a great game, different enough to be set apart from anything in its genre but I felt more powerful during the beginning half of the game before the actual game begins, the tanks always kicked my ass and it was still difficult to out pace the apaches..it was still worth the money to buy it. I still would be playing it if I didnt get a red ring of death and resorted to upgrading my PC.
@13ALUCARD13 Infamous came out on May 26. This came out on June 9. Also, they have almost NOTHING in common other than the open world and super powers.
This game does a really good job in making the player feel powerful. The presentation is good, and although the story is somewhat dull its great fun. The main drawback for me is that the high number of moves are mostly redundant as there is only 2 enemy type that pose a threat to alex (the hunter and a late game soldier type). The hunter appears very often and has only 3-4 attacks, fighting them becomes dull soon if you dont insinst on using ineffective yet fun attacks on them. for a sequel i want more hand to hand fighting enemies !!
Took one look at the game cover and thought 'Mmm.. another dragon slayin goblin thing'. What have i been missin this game looks great fun!!
I've been playing this game for about a month...this video does do the tedium of the game justice, at some points it does just seem like a Mario game or a Hanna Barbara cartoon, with the same background over-and-over again!
@ibm10 infamous came out like 2 weeks after this game i remember cause i preordered this and was looking forward to infamous at the same time
best game of 2009 next to infamouS WHICH WAS RELEASE 2 WEEKS AFTER PROTOTYPE SO INFAMOUS IS RIPPING OFF PROTOTYPE IF ANYONE IS RIPPING SOMETHING OFF......
this was in development before inFamous... and its an M rated game... and he can soar in the sky... with way more powers
This game reminded me the Hulk:Ultimate Destruction. There are lots of similar moves but also they added tons of other features as well. It would be wrong to compare this game with InFamous. Gameplay mechanics are very different from each other. (Prototype is much fast-paced too) Well, I prefer InFamous though. Electric effects are great :) (looks cool) plus you can at least play the game twice (as a good and evil guy) to see everything.
Good review; however, I won't purchase another Activision game, because they abandoned Prototype...not a single patch has been developed since its release.:(
