Prototype is a well made game, which puts you at the edge of your seats sometimes. It is entertaining, addictive at times and is frustration at other times. You play as Alex Mercer , you start out the game in confusion and then later you get bits and pieces of what happened to you. You start out with the basics as powers, and eventually if you are good, you can upgrade to the good stuff!
Some of the cool power you can do is powers like consume, which is where you can consume somebody and transform into that somebody. That's the best way to infiltrate enemy basses, you basically consume the commanding officer and you can basically control that unit. Eventually you can upgrade a power go then you can regenerate health every time you consume a person, also you can have health that regenerates without any consumption.
The gameplay is overall good, but there some things that can get rather frustrating at times. The lock-on feature is one of the main things that can get frustrating. I have noticed that I lock-on to targets and threw object toward them and it passes right other the target's head…missing! That is very, very frustrating, especially when fighting the last boss. Another thing that gets kind old is that the camera doesn't seem to go where you really want it to go, well at least that's what's happening with me. Though two things are the most important things that need to be working right for that last boss, and they haven't been for me.
The graphics are good, you've probably seen better, but its is good graphics. Although as you play the game you get to realize that the scenery never really changes, which is annoying. So overall the game if good, not great, but good. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes good combat games or would enjoy a challenge. If you're not sure, this game is at least worth renting. If you play the game, I hope you enjoy it!
