If you combine the Free Roam feature of Spider-Man 2 for the PS2, the locomotion (character movement) and combat of Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction for PS2 and the raw carnage from God of War, this game would be the product! I waited over a year for this game to come out and I can honestly say it was worth the wait!

The whole gist of this game is this: A "man" named Alex Mercer wakes up on a operating table in a military base in New York City, and after a brief confrontation with some guards he discovers he possesses abnormal powers, and that he has no memory of who he is or what happened to him. So he sets off to find the one responsible for what happened to him, and in the process unwittingly unleashes a terrible virus on New York, infecting more and more people as the days pass. Now he must use his newfound powers to find the one responsible, and stop the virus from taking over New York.

Basically, you play as Alex, and through out the game you do different missions to bring you closer to finding the truth. Sounds simple right, Wrong. The military will do everything in it's power to stop you, and the monsters created from the virus will tear apart anything that stands in their way, that includes you. But fret not, you can use your powers of shapeshifting, such as consuming other people and turning into them, and changing you body parts into different highly destructive weapons. To help you progress further, Consuming people comes with certain perks like a disguise, access to that person's memories, and other things you'll have to find for yourself.

First thing, you just gotta love the carnage with this game. Seriously, your arm can turn into a a 3 ft blade for god's sake! You can just imagine how many people you can cleave in half with it. You also get claw blades, a whip arm, hammer fist and mass arms, along with armor, a shield and two different visions: Inferred and Infected. And as far as movement and combat skills, there basically the same as the incredible hulk game for ps2 only better. Hulk ain't got nothin on Alex. But really, the only difference between them is that Alex can glide, some attacks are slightly different and he technically uses weapons. They basically ripped it off of that hulk game, but improved on it (including the critical mass attacks. both games have them!) The plot is good, nice and simple. And the missions along with the extra events keep you on your toes. but the best part is the free roam and new game+, you can still roam around the city even after you finish the game to cause havoc, or you can make a new game but keep you upgraded powers to continue upgrading them. The only downside is the controls and camera don't always cooperate, but you'll get it eventually. And the difficulty is hard, even on easy, I died at leas half a dozen times and failed many missions before I finally finished the game. But it just wouldn't be fun if it was easy right?

So if you like slicing people in half, eating people alive, and just causing mass destruction, this will be the game to buy!
