Right. So. I'm glad I never got this game, woulda wasted my time. Maybe it IS overall better than the original, at doing what it's mainly for. Well, the original wasn't so ridiculously easy as he makes this one out to be, it actually had difficulty spikes at times that made it as much (dumbly) fun as frustrating.

The games are interesting in that you play an anti-hero in a The Hulk movie-like situation, where you're overwhelmingly powerful (grotesquely so) and rampaging, yet aren't the villain. But after the first game's been played, it's "been there, done that."

I might've gone for this, if it were about the original protagonist, Alex Mercer. I would've been interested in how his story develops, but apparently here he's become a bit of an antagonist himself, for some reason, conveniently giving us a replacement all-powerful sonuvab***h, a la vampire siring. Who happens to be a marine, OF COURSE. It was gonna be either that or a Delta Force, Ranger or SWAT cop, no doubt. Even a mercenary would've been more original (and you could still pretend that's why he can handle any and all types of weaponry and combat vehicles you come across).

well my pc can handle max payne 3 on 75 fps 100% of the time but this game goes down to 25 in some areas while others are 60...

dissapointing for a game with such crappy graphics...

they ported it with no enhancements for the pc... laaame!

fun game but for the lack of pc stuff and delay i give it 8.....

 @Yossi1007 True that.

 @TheBlaklyon sorry it goes down as low as 12 fps...

spiderman for the pc also has this prob and stutters in the mid 12 to the mid 25...

high fps only on small areas

The first one was better.

Doesn't look like they added much from the first one which is a shame...

There's not enough subtlety in games these days. They're all fast, flashy, button mashing moron-a-thons with lots of explosions and magic powers.

A game like this could be great if they reigned in the chaos. But like the reviewer said, it's "utterly ridiculous" and not my type of game.

 @shanethewolf You can play stealthy if you want. I actually like to be really subtle. The best thing about the Prototype games is they allow you to choose how you deal with things. If all you do is the big, flashy stuff then you're missing out on all of the little things that make it good.

the first one in a new eye catchy suit i feel sorry for paying 60$ for it on the ps3 and hated the ending even more

Only good part about PC games being delayed is that we get to see which games are not worth buying.

A 3 month delay, firing your devs after release, and nothing new for the PC...

I think companies need to realize consumers buy more than just the "software". There are many factors to consumer confidence and ethics may actually be a concern for a few people.

When they don't even bother to give it a separate review for PC, you know that nobody cares about this game. It reminds me of GTA with cheat codes. Fun for a little while, but gets old very quickly.

 @picho86 the written review says it's a solid port and identical in almost every way, and keyboard+mouse control can be shoddy.  what else could they possibly tell us that's meaningful?

This will be in the bargain bin soon.

 @PeterDuck yeah.. watching a screen from a very close distance with high resolution but with a game that contains sh*tty textures and low poly hexagonal heads kinda hurts your eyes...

 @PeterDuck Better graphics does not make a great game.

Yossi1007
Yossi1007

 @TheBlaklyon better graphics= more stuff to break...

stuff look more realistic you enjoy it better...

having shitty textures on every surface doesn't make a game good either...

neither does haxagonal low poly heads...

 @PeterDuck

Because, enhancing the graphics wasn't their intention when they choose to release the PC version three months after the console versions.

 @Whitebloodsun

when is it ever the intention of game developers?

 @PeterDuck the mouse is not a problem playing third person hack and slash with kb&mouse is kinda weird... i use a controller for that one...(x360 controller)

i consider my pc as a super x360 with the same nice controls..(of course i use kb and m on fps rts and max payne...)

Yossi1007
Yossi1007

 @PeterDuck where should i begin? the painfull to look at x360 textures the hexagonal heads or the fps drops that shouldn't be there for a game that works fine on a console 7 years old????

(on a pc that runs max payne 3 at the max settings with stable 75 fps and runs crysis 2 dx11 on 40 fps)

 @Kickable

yeah, try playing this game on PC

its criminal how bad of a port it is.

the mouse acts like its an analog stick.

this developer deserves to go bankrupt.

 @PeterDuck not even close to a dealbreaker for me, but i actually remember a developer diary where they literally said one of the flaws from part 1 that got to them was people saying how crappy the visuals were, and he made it sound like it was one of a few top priorities.  i think he was even referring to the console versions also

Looks better than the first Prototype. Fights are more simple also. Wasn't too keen on the first one, but this one still has lots of my attention...
