Randolph Ramsay gets updated on the story for Prototype 2 at GDC 2011.
hope the last boss doesnt have a time limit you have to kill him in the last boss in the first one took forever. just made it too with half a sec left
Not that I am hating, but graphics did not change a bit, and they don't seem to take their work even further than moderate expectations from reviews. I am happy that they are adding stuff to what people love, but fix the horrific problems that are on the other side before giving me more of what I love.
So you're going against Alex Mercer? Aiming to kill the character you played as in the first Prototype? It's interesting, but at the same time also quite saddening.
@derek3257 I think it will be possible there are many games with loads of chaos on screen but still manage to include co-op I just hope they do split-screen as well as online other wise I'll be disappointed.
@Marky360 I'm sorry man but there's too much chaos going on for an efficient level of co-op play in this game. The thing I loved the most about Prototype was the freedom I had to bounce around where ever and however I wanted to. I think co-op would hinder the experience a bit, unless they cut down on how much action is on the screen all at once then maybe it would work. We'll see what happens in 2012.
Prototype mastered the mechanics. Best open world physics out there. Too bad the same can't be said about the combat and the game design. You'd lose all the hype to bad quest layouts and wasted skills.
I think they can really augment both the stealth mode of this game and the over the top action. Both aspects were good in the first game, but will a little polish (plus incorporation of new skills) could be phenomenal.
@derek3257 you got to be nuts co-op is a must me and my friend were psyched about co-op in the first one but they didn't deliver so they definitely got to do it for this one or I'll be majorly disappointed.
Man I can't wait for this game Prototype has got to be the best open world action game around and I can't wait to see what they have in store for the sequel. More insane over the top powers and more military vehicles for me to jack can't wait.
I hope they balance the A.I. so it's not destroying you every 5 secs as you gain more powers. Scaling difficulty is great but they need to make an effort to execute it better in the next game. The amount of actions all on the screen at once was kind of a sour point with the 1st one as it would freeze or slow down at times. Maybe to combat the slow down they should initiate a slow motion mechanic. slow motion/ time manipulations seems to have become popular as of late with action games. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they don't add co-op or mutliplayer, this game is fine as a single player game.
I hope that there will be fewer guns/vehicles, no web, and more use of powers, personally. First game was great, but the amount of things Alex could do seemed to distract from his powers (to the point where powers usually have only 3-4 attacks). Vehicles, all sorts of guns, as well as eating people to gain info all sound nice, but not if they distract from core gameplay too much, imo.
@ dantefenix $80-110 in Australia, depending on were you buy. I wouldn't mind getting new games for $60. That said, AT LEAST six hours, like you say.
no Alex Mercer_hmm....?I really liked the first game and i hope this one will be even better_they have to put some new powers and change the upgrade system in my opinion_lookin' forward to 2012 :D
@Vojkan80001 I found Prototype and Infamous to be two very different games, apart from the leads being really unlikable. It's good that they aren't rushing it out as although fun prototype was a really ugly game, that looked unfinished as opposed to a deliberate style choice.
YeaH babe another prototype I hate to wait another YEAR but prototype was one hell of a game and this one will be greater (I hope that is possible)
I "love" Inception inspired tune at the end of the video. People lack creation and just tend to borrow from one another. Sad
d first one was lyk:(....but hoping tht they have smthng very exciting n interesting in d box this time...
I never played the first Prototype so I'm not exactly sure how this one is going to shape up. It almost seems though that the story doesn't really follow up very well from the first one. We'll see though.
Lame, they should've quit after the first part. It was fun to run around and kill in Manhattan, but on the end the game started to become very one sided and boring.
I honestly don't know what's there to love about the first game. It was simply a bloodfest. That's it. Mercer is just a killing machine with no sense of morality whatsoever.
