Cruising through the street of NYZ...
Those who have played Prototype 1 should feel right at home. Flashy cut-scenes, bad-ass lead character, crazy acrobatic feats, the imaginary NYZ has never been such a joy to explore.
With an arsenal of powers given to you by the "maker", you, as James Heller, will embark on a journey to take revenge for the loss (or not) of your family. Though the story has great potentials, there are rarely memorable scenes or events. However, the game is not really about the story telling but the game-play. With the great animations, combat is fun and fast (though those looking for a challenge should crank up the difficulty). The variety of powers at your disposal is great, though the pace at which the game made them available to you may be subject to discussions. Every move you make just feel so powerful with the fully destructible environment.
In a nutshell, those looking for a story that lives up to the standard of the first game WILL be disappointed. As well as those wishing for a smart lead character. But if you're looking for having a good time smashing evolved, executing finishing moves on helicopters, weaponizing tanks then give Prototype 2 a try. You won't be disappointed.
