I was excited to play Namco X Capcom, but I never finished it because the gameplay was too tedious and just felt it was lacking in some regard.

I think I already know what the answer is, but does this game improve in areas that NXC was lacking in?

From what i heard from many people, the battle system itself is an improvement over NxC overall.Though unfortunately it still suffers from the same problem NxC had in terms of pacing, even though enemy mooks have no attack animations which speeds it up alittle. Even the battle system becomes tedious despite being an improvement. Also i heard the story is pretty mediocre.

Again i myself havent played it, but these are some of things ive been told from people who have, so i could be wrong.

Wait, how exactly do you not have a battle system with the mooks? How do you beat them then?

But if what you're saying is true then crap, I'm not sure if I even wanna look forward to this game.

They still attack you, they just dont have animations like they do in NxC, which kinda speeds up the pace alittle. They are limited to field attacks only, while bosses have their own unique attack animations though.

Despite the game's glaring flaws, if you enjoyed NxC and enjoy SRW games then you'll definately like this game.Dont let the negatives turn you off from the game,if your that unsure then look up some playthroughs to get a good idea of how the game is.

It's a step up from NxC. The attack phase for your guys is shorter and the combos feel like combos now. Enemy mooks don't do animated attacks now, only bosses.

    It's still shallow, but better.

As a person that cleared NxC 3 times, I must say this:

I don't like the removal of enemies' attack animation. I am the one who think this made mook enemies blank and all look the same. Even ride armor for Vile looks pointless because it doesn't have attack animations.

Another change I don't like is no way to stop enemy's overdrive attack. In NxC you could prevent enemy from using overdrive with counter or evasion, and you could avoid poison this way too. But in PxZ every overdrive is free pass, and if it inflicts debufs - suck to be you.

Other changes I like and admit this game is a big improvement.
