One of the rare truly fun shooters. You definitely need to play this.

Let me start off saying i enjoyed the weapons and and story far more than halo 2 (lets get down to it shall we? Many people compare their shooters to halo). Now, onto the review. The gameplay is nearly perfect in the majority of its assets, while it does have a few places that do not work up to par with the rest. The shooting is very well tuned, and is adjustable to the sesativity you want. The weapons all have secondary fire, nearly all of which unique and certainly all entertaining, not to mention useful. All of the capabilities have their uses and you will use them all, trust me on that. The vast (nearly to the point of rediculous) number of grenades, shield walls and other projectiles help to add a certain depth and variety, making sure that you won't get bored of this game. The only true letdown are the vehicles, which feel unispired, and while functional, just don't feel fun to use. The controls are very, very well done and allow you to move, look, throw a grenade, shoot, and switch weapons all at once. I have played the x box version of it, and the controls do not work as well for it. On to the graphics. While the graphics are great and impressive, they are a bit blocky. However, the color palates area designs, and level designs are all varied, making it overall quite beautiful. Whether it be an oriental look, a hi tech background, or a modern design, everything is varied. The skills effects are vibrant and can give you the feel that you are actually using them, and the weapon effects also are vibrant and provide a contrast to the background. The sound in this, while nice, is very forgettable. It has a nice varience between the instruments and sounds and is more the sufficient, but not quite noticable. The voice acting is for the most part very good, though a few people are a bit comical (and it seems as though it was deiliberate). The guns and effects each have their own unique sound and very from harldy noticble to very loud. The value is a bit of a let down. The story mode is between 9-15 hours,(BTW the majority of the missions give you the options between sneaking along or just charging head in, which can provide for a variance in the story) and just leaves you wanting more. There is also no co-op, which is a shame, because thing game could be extremely fun on co-op. Along with the lack of co-op, there is a lack of multiplayer as well, which is an even greater shame. Overall, this is a great game, and should be played. Right now, you can get the game for 25 or 30 bucks, so there is absolutely no reason why you should run to the store and buy this.
