Project Gotham Racing 2 is a racing game by Bizarre Creations that came out in November of 2003. The game is all about racing, earning point to get tokens which unlock cars and just generally having a good time.

PGR 2's graphics are great and look spot on. The car models look very realistic in every way, shape and form and the same can be said about the tracks. Each track is very well designed and gives players the sense that they're racing on real city streets. The scenery itself is also very impressive. Building, trees and even the barricades look realistic.

PGR 2's gameplay is solid and feels just right. Each car behaves differently and almost realistically. This helps to provide a sense of immersion and it works well for the most part. There are only two real problems with the gameplay itself. The first being the general lack of collision physics even though the cars can take damage. Players can hit things like walls at high speeds and suffer very little damage to their car, which makes no sense. The second problem is if players are using a steering wheel and have to restart a race players will encounter problems. What seems to happen is that the game seems to temporarily loose the wheels calibration if players are using manual transmission. This results in the players' shifter to only work in reverse and doesn't allow them to get into gear. Of course players don't have to use manual if they want to.

PGR 2's audio is solid and feels very well done. There's a good diversity in PGR 2's soundtrack but even if there is nothing players like in there they can use music from their console. However all the music seems to stop as soon as the race players are in finishes.

Overall Project Gotham Racing 2 is a very solid racing game that makes it an easily recommendable title.
