Project Gotham Racing 2 is a far from simulation but far from arcade. Almost stuck in the middle. The style of gameplay sees you driving carefully around bends breaking around tight areas and staying to sides to get the best out of a curve however it also sees you powersliding around corners to rack up massive kudos which is like a points system that totals up the speed and style of your driving. Pulling off huge powerslides results in a mass amount of Kudos added onto your score.

The game is pretty simple to begin in single player. You begin with the slow cars; The Compacts then move up to another class. You will go through multiple races in many difficulties to get to the next rack of cars. This does get repetetive and the lower stages are hard as alot of the cars are very slow or handle like a rabbit with a skateboard jammed up it's rear..... ahem.

The grahpics are still very nice to look at. Textures on the road and the lighting off the water makes some really great effects. Also the car models are very well done, many of the cars look very realistic with the reflections of the sun off them.

On Live the game really begins. You are able to earn Kudos online aswell meaning you can gain twice as much if you have Live capabilities. When you race you still earn kudos by stylish riding and getting a hide podium place when the race is over. It isn't hard to get to grips online in nearly every room you go to you'll see a newbie just like you. Be sure to unlock a few higher stage cars before you jump online though. Otherwise you'll be riding a Honda Civic and the other guys will be buring you with Porches and other higher level sports cars.

Overall any petrol head will like this game as it's all about racing and the collecting of your garage. If you havn't online then you need to have a good reason to get this as Live is the perfect sidetrack if you've had enough of single player for a bit.
