There is no way to sort by them right now. The community news blog has been featuring those from 100 or 500 lately though. Have you checked out the latest weekly reports? JodyR

No I haven't...thanks for the tip.

@ VGK...lol...I didn't mean everyone who recommended themselves had no fans. But if you check, more than a few of those self-promoters have had few-to-none recommendations. (I include myself in that group, for the record, before anyone starts blasting me. :P )

I just would like the Top 100 to be an emblem that really signifies something, reserved for those few that the community feels deserve it. Simply writing a ton of reviews (even if they're GOOD reviews) doesn't automatically mean the writer deserves the emblem. If readers aren't tracking his reviews, then his contributions aren't helping anyone...yanno? *(Which is also why I'm glad mods have the final say...it prevents Friends-List-Exploitation...i.e. "You thumbs-up all mine and I'll thumbs-up all yours!")

@ Jody...is there any way to get a list of some sort of those who have the Top 100 emblem? I enjoy GOOD player reviews, and I'm currently tracking several people who I know have the emblem, simply because I've discovered that their reviews match my tastes, so they're always helpful.

ALSO...might I suggest that you give some advice to all the people recommending themselves? (I'm not a moderator, so it won't mean as much coming from me.)...

If you seriously want to be considered for the Top 100 Emblem, wouldn't it make sense to build up a sort of fan-base? Like, people who actually READ your reviews and RECOMMEND them?

Looking thru this thread, I see a number of people who have posted a lot of reviews, but no one seems to be reading or recommending them (myself included). For the Emblem to have any significance, it needs to be earned, based on the community's appreciation for your contributions, and not just because you want another emblem. I'm asking my on-line friends to read my reviews and offer me some constructive feedback, so I can actually write something that others will find useful.

I actually think that's a good idea as well.

Personally, I've never been much of an "emblem collector", since there are so many that are either too easy to get (i.e. I tuned into the last 20 minutes of the recent PoP demo and got an emblem for it), or they can be obtained by exploiting the system (i.e. run around for an hour or two, tagging everything to become a "Tagger King").

Having said that, I recognize that many GS participants have a lot of fun collecting emblems, and they should certainly have the right to display the ones they're most proud of. Certain emblems, such as the Top 100/500, or winners of game-night tournaments, are reflections of a noteworthy accomplishment. (And for my part, I could hide that big, obnoxious orange turkey-leg I got just for voting in the Thanksgiving video contest :P .)

lol...maybe it's just me...maybe I'm not in the right spirit of things, but after Jody's post, I have to ask...

Why on earth would I want someone to "prove" that they've beaten some game? I mean...what do I care? Unless you're going to start handing out cash prizes, lying about such a thing is pretty much pointless, and if someone feels compelled to do so, then I fear they probably have bigger issues than can be adequately addressed on a game site. :P

Playing devil's advocate, I must say that I can see where such a feature could get to be a nuisance as well. I go into a LOT of forums and just post conversationaly on various threads and topics. Getting an indication that there were "responses" to my recent posts would make me feel sort of compelled to track them all down to see if there's anything relevant.

If such a feature could be limited to just responses where I was "quick-quoted", then it may be useful to me, since such a post would, indeed, be relevant to me. But even that could be cumbersome from a design standpoint...might suck up too much memory or site resources (although I freely admit, I have no idea what such a feature would entail...maybe it would be easy).

In the meantime, I find the "My Recent Posts" section to be helpful. If I DO happen to have some kind of running conversation in some thread or forum, I find that a quick perusal of this section serves as a reminder, and I can see if anyone has, indeed, followed up on MY posts.

Thanks for trying to help, megagood...but yes, I am logged into my account when I try to thumbs-up a review, and it still doesn't respond. No message, just doesn't add to the "recommended by" number. So I think you're right about it being some kind of individual glitch for me alone, since it doesn't seem to be affecting anyone else. I have no idea what could be the cause, but I guess I'll just have to pm my props to good review-writers.

And kudos for the change in verbage...might help clarify the intent for some readers.

I'd like to see that change as well, if only to clarify the intent. But I think there will still be a lot of readers who will arbitrarily rate a review s "Not helpful" if they disagree with the score the reviewer gives. I've read detailed reviews that gave a game a low score, and went out and bought the game (and enjoyed it) as a result of the description the low-scorer provided. Helped me to realize that the things the reviewer didn't appreciate where not aspects that would negatively impact MY experience.

But I still can't give a Thumbs Up on any reviews...just isn't responding when I click on the icon. (Funny that it works fine when rating Comments on blogs or articles.)

To megagood...that was my point...it HASN'T been fixed, at least not for me. I can't give a Thumbs Up or Down on any review. (Oddly, it works fine for the Comments on any blogs or articles.) I know it might seem trivial, but it's an important feature of GS to me. If I need to do something to 'activate' it, please tell me.

I also agree that I would like to see some kind of Comments available after the reviews, so reason for why someone gave an Up or Down could be inserted. And I also think too many readers confuse Helpful/Not Helpful with Agree/Disagree...big difference. As far as I'm concerned, the Thumbs Down feature should be eliminated, since it's just plain meaness. I mean, if I don't give a Thumbs UP, doesn't that already imply that I didn't find the review Helpful? Beyond that, I don't feel any need to blast someone's efforts

Thanks to whoever locked my thread before I got an answer.

At the risk of being the only non-supporter to post in this thread, I have to say that I don't really see the point of such a list. Doesn't "beating" a game basically mean you've finished it? If not, then what's the difference?

I've completed every game I ever played, with the RARE exceptions of a production that was just too lousy to warrant my time. So in that respect, my Owned Games list is pretty much a compilation of the titles I've "beaten". I mean, how many people own games they've never finished, unless it's just too crappy to bother with?
