overall i like the nxe upgrade. my biggest issue is the fact that the music visualizations now have a choppier framerate. Now, I admit thats really picky considering everything else theyve done.
i like to think to myself that the 360 introduced more people into online games. its fun and alot of people prefer to play with other people instead of a computer all the time. i think you are right that developers are focussing alot more on multiplayer now because they realize the market value in it. you on the other hand realize that it affects the single player aspect of the game. if the trend continues, alot of other people like yourself who enjoy the single player aspect of games may stop buying ones that are single-player-deficient. this would cause less games to sell and companies would lose the market they originally began developing for. hopefully theres alot like you, that way the loss would be enough to make them begin to focus on the single player again. i know i am, and i was disappointed with halo 3's singleplayer. Anyway, when they realize this loss, chances are they will begin to focus on the single player games again. You gotta think though, which is more economical? designing a game for one person? or for many? hopefully theres enough money to go around for a nice single player, because lets face it, designing simple multiplayer games cost less money, and many people like simple games.
i stupidly tripped over a cord and my xbox fell from the vertical to the horizontal position. in doing so it made a nice scratch shaped like a halo... on my halo 3 disc (which i now have to replace). however, i am worried most about whether my console lens has been damaged. it runs other games fine but since i have sent in my xbox twice for repair (for disc drive errors that were (unlike this case) not my fault) im a little paranoid as to the integrity of the lens and the disc drive. anyone with some experience in hardware could tell me if ill be sending in the console for repair soon?
oh yeah one more thing, when u put ur disc into the tray and press the button to close it... can you seethe tray begin to spin the disc as its entering the machine (like when its 3/4 way in)?
console is vertical but i never ever move it while its running. and yes i stick it in the console gently...i think when i head to the states ill go to an ebgames or something and ask them to check it out..then ill call microsoft ...again..
