thanks for the tip :D i think i will look for the 1075t hopefully i found it here :(Since you want to keep the CPU for 2 years then I recommend the x6. In a quad core optimized game, the difference between a 3.4 quad core and a 3.0 hex core is most likely not noticeably visually but if a game in the future is well optimized for 6 cores or more then I believe the hex core will be noticeably faster and the little higher clock speed of the quad core will not make up for then 2 extra cores of the hex core.

hum a few extra bucks for the 965 then would be better i think or the difference in money is not worth the 200 mhz difference ?if ur on a tight budget get the 955, its about 148

guys i need help
i have a tight budget and i want to buy one of the following
either
Phenom II x4 965 BE @ 3.4 Ghz on a 890FX Mobo
or
Phenom II x6 1075T @ 3.0 Ghz on a 870G Mobo
both will be with a 2x2 gig ddr2 1333 Mhz FSB and a radeon xfx 5850 vga
i know that games are frequency demanding more then cores and the difference in price isnt that big but am tight on budget :( and am not willing to OC at all so which should i get if i intend to stay somewhile with that RIG ?
your help is much appreciated
New AMD Turbo CORE Technologyaccording to my knowldge games are frequency demanding, so 3xcores on 3.6ghz are better then 4xcores on 3.4ghz that if the game is even using beyond the second core ;) thus making the x6 a bulldozer in games also i have a friend with a x6 1050 OC with stock fan to 3.5 ghz stable and all 6 cores active (not all of them are functional in the game but the other 3 core can be used for rendering or stuff ;) )Both the AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X6 1055T and 1090T come equipped with AMD's new Turbo CORE technology. AMD Turbo CORE technology is a performance boosting technology that automatically switches from six cores to three turbocharged core for applications that just need raw speed over multiple cores. While in Turbo CORE mode, the AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X6 1090T shifts frequency speed from 3.2GHz on six cores, to 3.6GHz on three cores

a good friend of mine has an x6 1055, and when he plays games, only 3 cores are activated.

interesting thought the only game that uses more then 2 cores was crysis
actually the x6 has more cahce, both the x4 and the x6 has L3 of 6mb and for L2 each core has a 512k cache which makes the x6 the winner with a total of 1mb extra in cache :)
