Guys, guys, Take it easy :) I think I might downgrade to the Q6600 so that I can get a motherboard that is at least 750i as someone recommended.

Okay I swapped the current VC with this:

BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC Video Card - 512MB GDDR3, PCI Express 2.0, SLI Ready, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV, Video Card

Still working on the rest.

I'll check out a different motherboard and the 8800 GTS, I hadn't repriced vidcards yet so...

I've been buying this in stages, I purchased my keyboard and monitor already. Using it with my current computer.

Yes, the Q6700 is a really good deal right now. Unless someone can give me a compelling reason to switch to Vista, I'm going to hold off a while. I actually had extra RAM in my config but decided I could add it later.

Thanks

Okay I posted this a while back, but it changed. Changed the cpu from the Q6600 to 6700, and some other things as well. Just want to make sure before I buy that:

A) I haven't missed anything.

B) My power supply is adequate, could I OC the cpu with this?

C) The fan is adequate.

These are the specs for the computer I'm planning to buy. I did research on certain components, but not being really technical I'm not sure about how they will work together. Please let me know if there is something I didn't take into account or any other advice you may have as this will be the first computer I build. Also let me know what looks alright. I just want a second opinion before I buy. If you want to suggest any upgrades just be sure the total stays under 1.5 k. Right now it's at about 1,000.

Thanks,

Ian
