For me it's a dead heat between The Last Of Us and Bioshock Infinite. Both games have their faults but are two of the most memorable games I've ever played.

Before you nag and complain, I LOVE this game. It's my game of the year so far. I reviewed it and gave it a perfect score.

Now onto what I was wondering. Does it bug anyone that we never found out what happened that led to the infected? Or why Joel was outside while his daughter was home alone? I feel like Joel has something to hide or just something if that makes any sense?

Well I thought it was worth mentioning, hell maybe I missed something. Can someone elaborate with any info or your thoughts?

I quite like the mystery behind it. Reminds me a bit of The Walking Dead. If you take the time to read all the newspapers you get a few snippits here and there:
The very first newspaper in the game (playing as Sarah), tells you of a massive increase of hospital admissions and and at the bottom how crops were being infested with a type of mould and having to be destroyed. I'm guessing this sort of tells you how it started and was spread.
As far as Joel is concerned I just think he was a very secrative character even before
the death of his daughter
. Leaves a lot to the players imagination.

Completed the game once and half way through a second playthrough (plus 5h of multiplayer) and had the following glitches:

 • One cutscene was devoid of sound entirely (came back on right after it)
 • twice when killing a hunter his body would fly in the air (slightly immersion breaking)
 • multiplayer has frozen 3 times and had to restart my PS3

So all in all 6 'glitches' in 31h of playtime. Wish all games were this glitchy. i'd be more than happy.

Sucks for the OP. Would be very pissed of if I was having the same problem but sounds like it may be hardware related.

Finished on normal last night. Took 18h 35mins to complete with about 70% of collectables and upgrades. Absolutely blown away by the game. It did suffer from a few pacing isues in paces and...
I absolutely hated the section in the snow playing as Joel and Ellie
...but overall i'd give it a 9.5. So looking forward to more games in the same universe as i'm sure there will be given the success of TLOU plus the amount of time creating the game engine for this. Naughty Dog just know how to do good drama.

also on the ending...
I just loved the mirroring of Joel carrying Sarah to her untimely Death at the start of the game to Joel carrying Ellie to safety at the end
Can't believe the same people who gave us the fun filled frolics of Uncharted pulled of this superb piece of sombre fiction. Hats off to ND.

Just watched this and tended to agree with most comments. I know reviews are all about opinions but just have a look at Metacritic or Gamerankings and 4 reviews stick out like a sore thumb.

TBH I would lose more respect now for Gamespot if they did change their score but you have to admit they have criminally underscored this game. I'd be inclined to believe the 30+ 10/10 reviews rather than the ones which seem at odds with the consensus.

Cannot wait for the 14th

33.

Only get to game around 8 hours a week at most but it's by far my most fulfilling hobby.

Been gaming since Mr Dad bought a zx spectrum and first loaded up Horace and the Spiders. Hopefully will still be strutting my gaming stuff in 30 years time.

Just pre-ordered this through shop-to. Cannot wait to get hold of the 'game of the generation'. It's the first time i've ever pre-ordered a PS3 game but I've so much confidence in Naughty Dog that I know it's be a fantastic swan song for my beloved console.

It may have flopped bigger than my friend Floppy McFlop from Floptown here on Gamespot but that alone was never going to effect the obvious quality of this game. I'm so excited that ND have managed to make the 'best looking' PS3 title this late in it's lifecycle.

On an unrelated note I predict me being the worst player of this game in the history of gaming as I can envisage much screaming and hiding behind cussions when the clickers come-a-callin'

expectation levels 10/10

I don't know if it's been mentioned before but i'm guessing the fee to play a used game will also have a massive effect on the rental market. I do on occasion like to rent before I but but surely under Microsoft's new system that will be impossible as i'd have to pay the pre-owned fee to play the rented game.

I own both a 360 and ps3 and love both consoles. In fact I use the 360 more for playing games than the ps3 but sorry MS i'm out.
