I originally bought my PC in 2014 and upgraded my outdated GPU and Monitor. I now plan to upgrade the rest of my build this year and I'm looking for great components and any advice.

2017 Upgrades:

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FE

Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU 27" IPS 1440p G-Sync 165hz

Current Old Build:

Case: Cooler Master HAF-XM Mid-Tower

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4770K 3.50 GHz 8MB

Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z97X-Gaming 3 ATX w/ Killer GbLAN

Power Supply: 850 Watts Corsair RM850 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Fully Modular Ultra Quiet Power Supply

RAM: 16GB (8GBx2) DDR3/1866MHz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair Vengeance)

- Any other potential components I should also upgrade? I'm currently looking at these parts below that some friends recommended. I have no idea what the difference is between the motherboards listed even though they are the same make. lol

Parts I'm Looking At:

CPU: Intel 8th Gen Core i7-8700K Processor

Thanks everyone, I'm trying to get back to mainly PC gaming after almost 2 year since I got my build and recently upgrading my gfx card and monitor. This stuff ain't cheap both cost me around 1600 dollars. Worth the quality.

I bought a 1080 Ti a week ago and it came with Ghost Recon Wildlands for free. I ran the game with almost maxed out settings and it seems that the fps drops from 60 to almost 44 and in between a lot of the times. In the future I wanna purchase Mass Effect Andromeda and want to max them out. I also just bought a new monitor with g sync. Do I have a bottleneck on my graphics card or does the game have issues currently? Thanks

My other hardware is listed below...

Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU bmiprz 27" WQHD (2560x1440) NVIDIA G-SYNC IPS Display, (Display Port & HDMI Port, 144Hz)

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4770K 3.50 GHz 8MB Intel Smart Cache LGA1150

Motherboard: : GIGABYTE Z97X-Gaming 3 ATX w/ Killer GbLAN, 3 PCIe x16, 3 PCIe x1, 1 PCI, 1 x M.2, 1 x SATA Express, or 6x SATA 6Gb/s

RAM: 16GB (8GBx2) DDR3/1866MHz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair Vengeance)

@MonsieurX: is it worth running games at 4k currently? Seems like the 4k versions of the monitors you listed only are 60hz. I do play some fps games like overwatch. I also have a Samsung ks8000 that's 4k HDR+. Is that decent for gaming? I use it for 4k streaming movies from Netflix

@MonsieurX: i was looking for a 1080ti but I can't find them in Stock. Is the 1080ti a lot more powerful than the 1080? Also, what kind of monitor specs would you recommend? I've heard of BenQ, are they really good?

@xtacticalphenom: Sounds good. What's your gamertag? Or you can just send me a friend request. :-)
