@ROLLER_CHK @Dannystaples14 There are no facts in the discussion of popularity. Still, consider that Justin Bieber is really popular, and you'll then know that being popular isn't the same as being GREAT!

@amazon09 Actually I do have an 8400gs laying around here. I also own several gaming computers. I never said you shouldn't buy a ps4. If you are willing to replace your games when you beat them, and aren't willing or SKILLED enough to deal with install and compatibility issues, and keeping up to date, sure, buy a ps4. That's the real trick, too. Most gamers DON'T KNOW HOW to perform upgrades, manual patches, and modding. But, even if you don't let bias get the better of you, and consider only the specs and benchmarks, the PC is the stronger, more adaptable, and longer living platform. I'm sick of CoD psuedo-hardcores acting big and bad about their consoles, without understanding the myriad limitations that come with them. As a note, I own, and love a PS3, an XBox360, and a Wii U, and love all three. That doesn't mean the overall stronger and more adaptable PC isn't the best platform for the REAL hardcores. Those who invest work in their gaming beyond getting achievements.

@amazon09 Have you even seen the specs/visuals on a good gaming pc? try comparing a maxed out PC copy of Dragon Age 2 running DX11, vs the XBox360 version. the diference is astounding. This is downright deceptive advertising by the Just Cause dev team. My 2 year old PC runs better, and, judging by the screens available, looks better. My system? i7 2600k (Essentially 8 cores) 4.6gHz (Three times faster than PS4) 16gb DDR3-1333 (More than needed for games for years to come. Enough to load a whole game disk into memory.) A whopping THREE GTX 660 Ti Video cards (Each stronger than that old Radeon clunker in the PS4). Most gaming PCs considerably outclass the PS4 in hardware specs, often to the point that optimizing won't EVER make up for it. Best part? Some of these big systems are several years old. Price and simplicity are the only advantages that the "Buy-it, play-it, trash/sell-it" Consoles have over the "Buy-it,play-it, expand-it, upgrade-it, mod-it, keep-it-and-play-it-for-years-to-come PCs"

@shaolinwind Troll, did you know that gddr5 is actually meant for graphics cards, and not system memory? Speaking from a tech standpoint, by using it for system memory (Which is shared with graphics, in this case) it will likely cause a bunch of issues with performance. Regardless, beyond ddr3-1600, you're not going to notice a performance gain on an 8-core or less system. It takes a HUGE CPU to use any more memory bandwidth than that. Even SSD technology wont help. Besides, memory bandwidth is only important when loading files from storage (HDD, SSD, etc.), since the system will buffer most data for the current point in the game to memory. That means you will not see a change in frames-per-second, whether you have DDR2, or go up to Quad-Channel DDR4, Mainly because communication between CPU and memory is less than for storage and memory. The former pair communicate fast enough to handle more than the CPU is even capable of processing. My point? GDDR5? Big whoop! EDIT: Not targeted at pepperwheels!

@shaolinwind Witty reply, troll. But then, you use that jibe all over on here, so you had to have picked that up elsewhere. You lack the eloquent tongue needed to engage in real word play, so you throw the same phrase around, willy-nilly, blissfully ignorant of the fact that there are factual contributors to this community, who have both the intelligence to discern your lackluster insults, and the sensability to comprehend the importance of a relevant statement on this, and the plethora of other threads on this site. The culmination of my lecture thus-far? Say something useful, or shut up!

@slainta @tymaynius Mebbe. They aren't very specific about "Out power most PCs". Most tablets do run windows (win8 isn't so bad on desktop, but was geared with tablet users in mind)

This is nothing more than PR advertizing. just looking at screens of the system (All rendered on one of sony's PCs, not on PS4 btw. Common advertising fib...), the games look nice, and better than most home web-browsing systems (Dell, HP, Gateway, etc.), but, then, we're not interested in those. The ps3 is stronger than most of them. So is the 360. We're interested in $1500+ gaming specific PCs. Most will always look better than the consoles of the day. You can't optimize hardware from a $800 PC to run as good as that from a $1500+ PC, which, btw, can be upgraded. PS4 will always have the same crappy hardware. But, lets be fair. Despite what console makers think today, the consoles were NEVER INTENDED to compete with PCs. They were each intended for a different type - and caliber - of gamer.
