I just bought R-Type (SNES), Turok 2 (N64) and Shaq Fu (SNES). Unfortunately, Shaq Fu doesn't seem to be working.

Picked up Shaq-Fu and R-Type for SNES today. Fortunately, R-Type works just fine, but Shaq-Fu won't start up. I just get a black screen. While one less copy of Shaq-Fu may be what's best for humanity, I still don't want to give up on it. It doesn't seem to be a console issue (tested a few other games to make sure). I blew off the cartridge and got some static, but then it just went back to black. Anyone got any ideas?

What are some of your favorite under appreciated games from the last two generations? Games that you seem to be in the minority on as far as holding them in high regard. Also, leave a moment or experience that exemplifies what you love about the game. For me, it's Far Cry 2 and Mirror's Edge. Far Cry 2 seems to be particularly divisive. It's definitely more difficult than most modern fps's. A lot of people dislike the lack of fast travel, but it's something that I feel adds a certain level of immersion and intensity. I guess my specific moment for that game is when I was really badly injured during a mission and had to sneak and fight my way across miles of dense jungle to get to the nearest safehouse. The health kits are few and far between and the enemies are tough and numerous. You really had to play it smart if you wanted to survive. Mirror's edge is just a really, interesting, fun and unique game to me. It's one of the few first person games to really break the mold that COD and a few othere games had set in the late 00's. It was a game that rewarded multiple play throughs by making you think of alternate routes to shave of minutes from your overall time. It was just a lot of fun. Frustrating at some points, but really great.

Not really offensive. My reaction is more "really, we're still doing this? we're still making a big deal about breasts and plastering them all over games to get sales? Jesus Christ, it's a woman, they comprise literally half of the human population, you'd think we'd be past this by now. If you want to get sexually aroused by a woman with massive breasts, there are millions of pictures and videos on the internet, seriously, you don't have to buy a game for this."

Oops, missed the part where you said over ear. Well, based purely on my experience with the Shure earbuds, you might wanna check out their headphones too.

I'm not sure what to classify that as. I'm not sure I could call suicide an act of strength or bravery but it can't be easy. Doug Stanhope has an amazing bit about people who call suicide the coward's way out though. Check it out.

I personally have a pair of SE215 Shure Earbuds. They're a hundred bucks and the sound quality is absolutely amazing. As with any high end pair of earbuds, there's some maintanance required and you have to treat them well, but trust me, it's completely worth what little upkeep is required. Pop em in and you won't hear a thing but your music in beautifully high fidelity.
