I was really hoping D3 was going to be great as well, I love action rpg's and was a huge fan of D2. It's too bad Blizzard really had to mess everything up with their RMAH system - which changes the entire game. Just not an epic feel for D3. Act 4 sucked bad. I will play again because I love action RPG's but the biggest disapointment of any game I've waited for is.... D3.

As for GW2, the pvp system is what attracts me to it. Plus the customization. Both are really strong in this game. Customization will only get better, and the pvp should improve overall as well. Also, no sub fee. I am like you, working, and super busy I don't have the time at all to play for an entire week. Then I might have a lot of hours the next week in comparison. GW2 with no sub fee is ideal. It also gives me the opportunity to play other games, even another MMO if I see something I like down the line. Awesome value with GW2 from my perspective. Although, the pvp and customization is what I look at the most. I believe there will be probably quite a few people who are disappointed with GW2 who aren't into pvp as much. So I think being interested in pvp is important of whether you will really love this game to the max. The world is huge though, crafting is big, and there is a lot of pve from what I've seen. The pvp system makes the game truly shine though as an overall 9 plus rating game. We will see how people respond to the end game raiding. Something I try to avoid since I don't have the time.

Easily best MMO available today from my perspective as well. No sub fee is a huge bonus, I would pay a sub fee for this game.

D3 was a huge disapointed for me. I will go back to it, and play it for years because I love action RPG's (as a whole the game is a huge let-down, biggest disapointment for any game in history - for me). GW2 is the game I've been waiting for. It shines with its pvp system. It will not satisfy all these WOW players who like to grind and raid for better equipment. The game is not about that sort of thing.

I don't know for sure, but I think it might be a game wide thing. Many names I tried were taken as well. I doubt that is just a server thing. Might be because of how the pvp is, playing against other servers.

I haven't rated the game myself yet, but I foresee a possible 9 or above rating. I prefer a game with strong pvp - and Guild Wars 2 I believe is that game. Also, graphics and design is great. There are many small things that make this game flow. Combat is faster than a regular MMO. The game feels fast and exciting so far. I need more time before I do my own review. I agree that games like this need more time before a review can be done. I just think people foresee a high rating, and are just giving it now.

If I were to give a rating of GW2 now, I would rate it at a 9.5 (and rounded up from 9.4).

Guild Wars has a strong chance to be rated 9 or higher. Although, I believe it shines from a pvp perspective more than a raiding perspective (although, I haven't played enough to know for sure). WvWvW is very dynamic. I still need to play more in order to rate the game properly. There is no way this game gets a rating lower than an 8 from me (at least that is what I am sensing so far).

I don't beleive there is any way this game fails. I don't think its a WOW killer. I just believe it takes a positive step towards the no sub fee games of the future. Where you don't play the game to grind (and hand over your money). One of the small, but positive features of the game that I enjoy most so far is the map (plus exploring discovery points for exp). The graphics are very solid. Customization seems to be very good (although, I need more time to give a more accurate opinion). The game is very well thought out so far (towns feel active, features etc. are great). I would compare the game to DAOC plus Everquest. Which to me is a really really strong combination. Many will be satisfied with this game I believe.

Act 4 sucks, and the game is a bit short. The first 3 acts were solid (Act 3 being the 3rd worst, but alright overall) and then Act 4 fell on its face. The game is average overall for a Blizzard title. Buyer beware, unless you are a huge huge fan of Action RPG's don't buy.

The gameplay, story, and music are not the true gripe most fans have about D3. It is indeed a great game. I've logged about 300 hours in and I'm always on the Diablo 3 forums researching information. From my own personal experience and from what I've read, the real gripe about the game is based on how it strongly pressures players toward the RMAH. Many of the nerfs are geared toward stifling your ability to quickly farm up gold or resources on your own. This includes heavier repair penalties for death at high level and constant patches that reduce gold income.

Once you hit level 60 and reach Act 2 through 4 in Inferno, the gear requirements are very stiff. As suggested above, there is a very harsh financial penalty for trying to progress beyond your gear level. The only way to get the gear is through farming, trade, or purchase. This can amount to hundreds of hours farming the exact same areas over and over again (certainly to be expected at some level, but should not constitute the bulk of the gameplay). Not surprisingly, the best gear is available on the RMAH, with prices reaching hundreds of dollars for a single item. As recently as two days ago, Blizz has caved in to complaints and increased drop rates slightly. But in summary, the game suffers a bit from this"pay-to-win" phenomenon that has been overtaking the industry overall.

Well said, the end game is based on the AH especially. What does that mean? It effects the character skills (Blizzard doesn't want you to feel powerful enough not to need the absolute best items available), and the items they are boring because if they were godly like D2 items they would help players too much. Making the AH worthless to them to produce max profits for the game. Blizz is the let down here. If the game were produced by some no name gaming company it would get more recognition. This is Blizzard, and they let everyone down, and tarnished their name as a gaming company.

You can enjoy the game, but the game has caught heat for "legit" reasons. People have high expectations for Blizzard games. This game is built around the AH, and that effects characterters, items, enemies, the whole entire game. So I wouldn't say to someone don't buy this game, by all means buy it. Enjoy it. But, this is not a masterpiece that people were expecting.

The game is built around the AH. That means:

- Characters are weaker than they should be "and more items dependent".
- Items are weaker, less unique stats to make you feel more powerful, items are lame WOW stats, and what is the purpose to name an item that has the same stats as a yellow?
- No clever tactic are viable in Inferno
- Necro was left out of the game for its potential to be considered over-powered replaced with the joke of a character called the Witch doctor
- Items stats, if you like them, extremely random, and very very difficult to find (but they are lame anyways)

The game is good, as compared to your average game. But, not great or subperb. It's in the 7 range. For a Blizzard game, thats why people laugh.
