Dead Space was a lot better, in terms of mouse support, than RE5; unless something in my RE5 config is wrong.Swiftstrike5
Well not as good as dead space:(dakan45
Wow.. Never thought I'd hear anyone say that Dead Space had better mouse control than ANY other game. And especially not two people in one thread..
Well these games have two entirely different problems with mouse support- Dead Space uses mouse acceleration/smoothing (which can not be disabled), which alters the speed at which the cursor moves based on how fast the player moves the mouse (I didn't even finish the game because I felt like didn't have control over my character). Resident Evil 5 has an entirely different "problem"- it doesn't force mouse smoothing/acceleration at all, but the mouse sensitivity while moving your character (either walking or running) is lowered by a huge amount. In most third-person shooters, mouse sensitivity during walking does not change (e.g. Gears of War, Dark Sector, Battlefield Heroes). In my opinion, this change in sensitivity during walking is the only pitfall of Resident Evil 5's mouse support, but a HUGE one at that. It makes the game unpleasant to play at times, because like in Dead Space, sometimes I feel as though I don't have complete control over my character.
I think that the mouse control while standing, looking around, aiming, or running is fine, but the mouse control while walking has a negative impact on gameplay.
