Happy plodding away with my 360 at the moment though, but once it's past it's shelf-life and there are no longer any games being made for it, then I'll probably be jumping over to PC.

I used to game on PC back in the day (1995-2002), but jumped to consoles, because there were so many great games for both Xbox & PS2 Plus my mates all had consoles, so it made sense at the time. But great games are pretty few & far between on both consoles. Seem like the amount of AAA games has really taken a nosedive in recent years and I'm not particularly impressed with the exclusives on PS4, or Xbox One. Not to mention Xbox One's many restrictions, but I'm not going in to that again.

So, hopefully by this time next year, I'll have a decent gaming rig that I'll be using as my primary platform. Who knows, might buy a PS4 in a few years when you can buy one for peanuts. We'll see.

I've been having the same problem lately.
My comments post fine, but I go back an hour, or so later and they're gone. My comments on my own older blogs have all disappeared as well.

If anyone can help, I'd sure appreciate it.

Played it and finished it. The stealth was great in the game, especially once you got the chain & knife takedowns. I liked to use stealth for the bases as well. Much more challenging and fun. Although if I found a good vantage point for sniping with the silenced AMR, it was fun watching the enemies running around wondering how their buddies were being killed.

Great game though. Definitely one of the best of 2012 and a HUGE improvement over Far Cry 2. This is what modern FPS should be like, rather than generic, linear Run & Gun like COD, Halo, BF etc.

To those playing the game:

Is the stealth approach possible in Far Cry 3 ?

In Far Cry 2 the enemies seemed to have a 6th sense and could spot you a mile away, even if they weren't looking at you.
Also, if you did manage to sneak up on 1 enemy and take him down quietly, it would still alert all the other enemies nearby.

This and the respawning enemies completely killed FC2 for me and I ended up trading it in.

If Far Cry 3 is a bit more refined and the Stealth approach is possible, I might give it a try.

So, I'd appreciate it if someone could give me a heads-up.

Cheers,

Tiz

Why do you bin them? :( why not trade them in/sell them? there are people out there that will buy them, no matter what the game. Take me for instance - I love Dark Sector and I still want to get Alone In The Dark (never got around to it) :).

It was a figure of speech, I did of course trade them.

It wasn't that Dark Sector was particularly bad, it just didn't strike me as anything special.

Alone In The Dark: Great setting, story, atmosphere & idea. RUINED by poor gameplay & awful camera angles. There's a reason it was in the bargain bins a month after it was released.

The original. Scary setting, ammo shortages and those Hunters !!! It had a really tense & sinister atmosphere, that was lost on the others.

The second one was scary on 2nd playthrough, when the Tyrant was chasing you & would burst through walls in corridors you thought were safe, after you'd been down them several times.

RE4 wasn't scary, but it was a good game.

RE5 was just a massive disappointment & had lost all the qualities that made the previous games such great survival horrors. I mean, co-op gameplay... WTF ?!

Yes, sir, you are in fact SCUM for having never played a Final Fantasy game !!!! lol.

VI, VII & VII are my favourites. The newer ones aren't that great.

If you do play & enjoy the FF games, I'd also recommend Shadow Hearts 1 & 2 on the PS2, but they are quite rare.

Played the original Worms on the PSOne & loved it.

Downloaded the updated 2d versions on XBLA & still have a blast playing them.

Depends really.

When I first played Oblivion, I didn't like it after a few hours, so I traded it. Bought it again after a while because I was bored & had nothing to play. Slugged it out for about 15 hours then got ADDICTED to it.

Lost Odyssey: I played for about 2 weeks (about 25-30 hours game time) before I got so frustrated & disgusted with it, that I stopped playing it & never played it again.

Call Of Duty 4: I got nagged in to buying this by, well, everybody. Played the campaign, that was fun, but only took me 5 hours to do. Played the multiplayer for a week, then just thought, this is actually quite mediocre, got rid of it and haven't touched a COD game since.

Dark Sector: Played it for 1 hour then binned it.

Condemned: Played it for a couple of hours, didn't like it at first, but it grew on me and I ended up really enjoying it.

I always buy Halo games, keep them for a couple of weeks, then trade them because I get bored with them.

Gears Of War 2: Played it for about 3 months, but it was a chore, so I got rid of it & went back to playing the first one.

Alone In The Dark: After a few frustrating hours, I binned it. Shame. I really wanted to like it, but the controls were just awful.

Personally, I don't have a set time I play games before deciding I like them or not. Especially after playing Oblivion and discovering how wrong I was for getting rid of it the first time.
