Haven't played this game in quite awhile, but I remember the mistake I made was that I tried to do everything there was to do on that first large map that you unlock. I realized later that you pretty much only need to do the very first mission there and then you can go to other places. Keep plugging away and you will soon have many different places to go.

Hmmmm.... this reminds me, they eventually did release DLC for this game didn't they? Wonder if I should go check it out. Sure hope Origin made a backup save of my game, if that is still there I may have to revisit this.

Depends on how you define "best" game I have ever played. If by "best" I list the games that I have put the most hours into then it would be:

Dark Age of Camelot, Baldur's Gate series, Skyrim

If by "best" I list games that I really enjoyed but didn't sink a ton of time into:

Mass Effect series, Half-Life series (3 someday?)

I don't remember the exact year, but I do remember playing games like Microprose's F-117, the original X-Com, the old D&D games like eye of the beholder, etc.

I was always into PC games, the first console I ever owned was an XBOX and even then, I only bought it for my kids.

@greaceyrobot:

Endless Legend is a great suggestion.

In addition I would also peruse games made by Stardock. They have several that would be right up your alley.

I'm quite interested in this game. However, it is also the type of game that is either going to be brilliant or completely boring. I'm not buying in until at least a week after release. Once I hear from friends/reviews.

I have multiple games on the go at once, but the last game that I "beat", meaning finished the storyline, was Just Cause 3.

It really depends on the genre and type of game. Overall though I mostly play SP games. There are a few games with MP components that I really enjoyed though, such as the MP in ME3.

This sucks, the past few years has seen many sites that I used to visit daily for more than a decade disappear. I'm still bitter about Gamespy.

If you're like me you rarely ever go through the bookmark folder and clear out sites that no longer exist. I finally went through my 'Gaming' folder and was reminded how some great sites disappeared within the last year.

Gamespy (been visiting that site longer than here, well over 12+ years)

Joystiq

I haven't bothered finding any new sites to visit but my rotation is down to Gamespot, GameBanshee, and Shacknews, with the occasional hit on IGN.

Bought this game at release but ignored the DLC.

Would like to hear some opinions on whether the DLC's are worth $10 each. Do they each add significant things to the game? I see for the second DLC one of the features says improved graphics. Can't find any info on what exactly is improved.
