How'd you get the upside-down and backwards "b"s? ;)
Response: they're called "d's" and "p's".

Alternative gets more airplay than most Metal.cyberdarkkid

If I were to support this opinion, which I agree to some degree for some genres, I would say because there seems to be an over-hyping tendency by some fans. You know when they say "metal is my life" or "metal is the only music" or things like that. Surely not all metal fans say those things, but I could safely say that I havent seen any (or as much) people saying the same for alternative.

Now I dont object the fact that this music may affect the lives/moods etc of its listeners more than alt, but that alone is a subjective criterion.

Sorry for the rant.

That does not mean that the genre is overrated though, it just means that the listeners are really into their music.

It may also indicate that metal is more capable of inciting passionate responses than most other genres.

Out of the two I prefer Alternative because its milder than metal. Although I do like some instrumental metal music.

Yea it has a wider range. From aggression to darkness, etc. Teenaged

Indeed. Alt rock doesn't encompass as wide an array of styIes as metal-you don't have anything as different as, say, funeral doom and technical death.

I think it has to do with what you like though. You think that alt-rock is not as diverse and I am sure I would be able to discern a max of 3 types of metal. But again that details depend on the listener, not the genre.

I'm sure you'd be able to tell the difference between funeral doom metal, American power metal, cIassic metal, hair metal, technical death metal, and whatever Nevermore ispretty easily ;)

I make amazing pasta and brownies. I am also the only person in my family capable of making steaks anything rarer than "extremely well-done".

haha, I had a problem with steaks for a while too. I kept thinking they were too rare and we'd all get worms. I would keep delaying until they were all well-done and my dad got mad at me  I can cook them properly now, though :D

Both your mouth and your family are probably thankful. In my family...not so much. My dad likes his steaks medium well and everyone else likes'em well done. I like mine on the rare side of medium.
Don't worry metalheads know how to treat the ladeyz.Rikardur

Metalheads are usually smart enough to know that they've gotta be nice to the ladeyz if they're going to get any sort of goodness from them, so they usually treat them very well.

What?

What what? I was neither intending to be truthful nor sensical, though I think a bit of truth came out in the above statement that was insufficiently obfuscated by the nonsensicality of the aforementioned quote.

I'm going to be hitting the bottle of cranberry juice this evening. I went to the grocery store solely to get a pair of bottles of it for chugging.

Metal. It interests me more than alt-rock.
