Alright yes, let's have all these brilliant specs and screens and speakers, but for the life of me why stick with the same controls for fifty years. Hear me out.

I mean, imagine if WASD was just a sort of wide low analog stick that you'd move sideways, without tilting allover the place, using the palm of your hand but that could still work fine as the left half of the keyboard. So you could freely guide to walk or run in any direction like a proper analog stick. If the right half was like that but could also break off and act as a mouse. Or something like that, something more develooped than just a tool for a bloody word processor. And games really should be compatible with it. Right now their not even properly compatible with the joysticks, you don't get the full control of walk and run speed in your games even when you do invest in bloody analog sticks. Microsoft could subsidize the keyboard, and soon it would be everywhere. They should jump at the possibility.

They might aswell even make it so in an advanced version you could turn each half of the keyboard sideways, with a strap for wrist support, so you'd have dual wielding light guns. Throw some accurate -things can be so much better than the wii- motion control sensing in, some vibration, some speakers, a microphone and make it so you can wield them freely, make sure the thing feels comfortable in your hand every stage of the way. Let you snap it together end to end so it's like an assualt riflem or erm, wand, or sideways so it's like a steerign wheel. You could update online game server menus with a filter for each control type..

Imagine if the keys could change their springiness according to circumstances, so that the games could use any key, with the flexibility of the shoulder button of a console contoller gives. They could vary in the depth that you can push them and in clickiness, and could sense the varying depths of your push. And game desginers could release patches for older games pretty easily to make them use this capability. This would be the best controller by far for years. A new standard, with barely any limitations, accuracy of a mouse, multitude of buttons of a kayboard, full analogs, motion sensing, light gun, microphone and speakers and better buttions of console controllers. It would be the niiice. There would be no limitations. It would suit every game.

Just SOME development anyway. Microsoft could always make it compatible with the 360 too so they'd have a great controller with a proper keyboard feel.

And for god's sake, include a tool in the control panel that you use to automatically update drivers and get patches for your games etc. You have to be a pretty hardcore pc user to make sure you're getting the most out of your hardware. Add some program in the taskbar that tells you how much ram you are using and stops it over loading and freezing.

Imagine if the screens of laptopes were actually flexible, could be extended out and adjusted fully in every angle. -It's about a £50 investment that frees that expensive high quality screen from the confines of your keyboard. Imagine, you could plonk it on any surface, and watch TV on it comfortably. They are doing it with a few models, the flybook etc. And it's about £50 added on to the price from what i can see, but it adds a hell of a lot of value to your enjoyment of it. It could easily replace your desktop PC.

Imagine all the people, living life as one! oo ooo oooo. Some people say i'm a dreamer-

Anyway

These form the clincher with me that stops me buying a laptop and stops PCs being the ultmate gaming machines. And it's bloody stupid simple things. yes indeed. Sorry if i've been too FPS focussed. And stop me if i'm wrong. I dare you. Stop me if i'm wrong.

Hey guys,

Well my mate wants a laptop so he can play Team Fortress 2 with me- me in same room playing on the desktop pc for awesome co-op-, but he's willing to spend something like £600 to £800 on the thing. If only he knows he's getting value for money.

The things we want are a nice big screen- 17 inches or more, and you know, all the numerous things that constitute niceness in screens- ... good speakers that frequently subwoof, maybe a blu-ray drive, good wireless internet connection and high USB transfer speeds, and a scart and HD video out also sound nice. Atleast a scart.

We don't care about how the thing looks or it's weight. If it's more than 160gb he'd really rather be spending that money on other aspects of it. I'm saying this because the HP pavillions come close, but they put our money into having massive hard drives and good looks. Surely there is something out there similar but without this waste of money.

It doesn't seem possible in this price range but if it could run Far Cry 2 decently, the dream would be complete.

Far Cry 2 specs -minimum 3.2 Ghz and minimum 256mb of Vram

Other than that, just generally good gaming specs are what we want.
