I've got some bad news for everyone who yearns for a football game that was as good as NFL 2K5. The exclusive deal that EA Sports has with the NFL was due to expire in 2009, which would be Madden 10 by title. Well the NFL went ahead and extended EA's contract for three more years! So 2K sports doesn't even have a chance to get back in the game until after the release of Madden 14! Arrrrgggghhhh!

Anyhow, this whole concept of exclusive licensing smells like a monopoly to me.(which by the way are supposed to be illegal) The only thing that makes the creators raise the bar is competition, and the NFL has totally eliminated that! So EA Sports can keep putting out substandard versions of football (that by the way doesn't even resemble "real" football) because they know that every runny nose 8 year kid will bug the crap out of their mother until she buys the little bastard the game no matter how terrible it might be.

If I was 2K sport I would re-release NFL 2K5 with updated graphics that PS3 and XBox 360 players are accustomed to.
