Can I trade them in to remove ads from the ad free prime I paid for or to bring back the 4k HDR content that's now gone too?
Not letting this one go and I'll be cancelling in May. I've had prime since day 1 and I bought books from Amazon on day 1 of its existence when it was hideous and hard to use... Won't be supporting anymore. It's the little things that we often draw a line over...
@oldtaku: Uhm... I play VR all the time at what's essentially 4k120 no fake frames lol. This niche is quite large and growing. The only thing holding it back is developers releasing console exclusives or just not releasing anything on the platform with 99% of the VR user base.. a platform that is easily able to scale a game from quest 2+ to high end all the pretty 4k or even higher depending on what your frame rate threshold is. Mines 80 but I prefer 120.
PC is where the VR scene lives and it's just waiting and dying for AAA content to consume. The more AA games released the more people who will make the investment because at this point even a "low end" hmd like the quest 3 is actually really good. If it had OLED panels and eye tracking id easily pay $100 more for it than the current asking price. OLED is godly in an. HMD and still my favorite aspect of the original Rift and why despite not needing to setup the 3 trackers every time and higher resolution displays (but inferior significantly because no true black) I found the rift s to be disappointing.
Perhaps they could have done something completely off the wall and released a game ON PC where VR has the biggest community. I have a psvr2, had it since day 1 but I only own 2 games and that's horizon which came with it and I just bought re4 remake (I'd hoped we would finally get PC VR support officially, ty praydog) and even then only because it was on sale because I already owned the much better PC version because I didn't build a $4k PC so I could not have all the pretty + all the frames and as much as I enjoy the ease of use consoles afford they aren't anywhere near as fantastic as PC and that's not even considering modding games. Hell I can play robocop maxed out at 90 fps in VR with VR controls... ty again praydog. UEVR FTW!!
Instead they signed a deal with Sony likely for a up front payment to be an exclusive and guess what... That was probably all the money they made and I wouldn't be shocked if there was bunch of stuff in the contract forcing them to make any sequel exclusive if it had the same name and also to support the game for X months and that contract probably just expired so poof.. they done.
Don't make a title that requires expensive niche hardware then exclude 99% of people who actually own said hardware by not releasing on PC and you might find success. Hell insomniac was able to sustain themselves on just VR for multiple years and I'd bet significant money that they have way higher overhead than you by 5x+
@Barighm: what's different about them that makes them not fun? they still do the same ridiculous stuff as before.
if your talking about being able to launch a vehicle a mile into the sky that's not the grenade, that was a physics error caused by the vehicle clipping into something, usually the map and it would cause an error in the physics calculations and rocket the object away.
you can still stick grenades to other grenades so what else?
yeah playing with those physics errors was fun but this issue was fixed just by the nature of how the geometry of objects are now. many more polygons means less chance of a large seam which means less chance of something getting stuck in it.
it would require them to make the visuals less geometrically complex and detailed for the nade launches to work again.
@ghostspartan: it's kind of like a cheat because let's say you drop a gun, then you need to grab the other one before you can use it. The way it is now when you drop a gun the other gun is instantly in your hands and firing.
So if you're using the AR & want to switch to the pistol you actually have an advantage of about 2 shots if you drop the AR instead of switching.
It should have always taken the same amount of time, especially in a tournament or ranked situation. I'm glad they are fixing it, especially with all the cheap modded controllers people use these days.
