@Corrupted_Wolf @PHOENIXZERO MS owns Skype and wants to use XB1 to push it. They don't need to pay for it, they want more users. The price is higher probably because of the Kinect and because they thought PS4 will cost like PS3 on launch.
@malokevi @tashtash The thing is you see "kinect packed in" as a plus. I'm a hardcore gamer who couldn't care less about casual kinect games, and MS is forcing it on users anyway. It's another reason to go Sony for me.
Also, it's not a good argument to name "web browser, media applications, parallel processes" as common things with XB1. They are also common to smartphones, tablets and some calculators. And you can get those for less than $500.
I'm not looking to just fight. I'm just saying that XB1 is good for some people - casual gamers, families that want a media center and don't want to buy HTPC for some reason. But for gamers it's a pass, and certainly it isn't over-valued for us.
@Pre_ordered_PS4 Oh yes, I will definitely sell, just not to GAMERS. Most reasonable gamers will prefer the PS4 probably. I've been all over e3 and prior announcements and I'm afraid MS doesn't have a single point of interest for me and a lot of other gamers - not even Ryse which turns out to be a QTE fiesta.
@malokevi The XB1 has but a fraction of what a PC has, I don't think it's a good comparison. I think the closest thing to the XB1 is sort of a streamer combined with a console. Everyone who already has a streamer or a PC connected to the TV, simply doesn't need this.
@malokevi Can you name such "other pieces of hardware with similar features" that aren't consoles? In particaular... CHEAPER and more user-friendly consoles?
Call of Duty is the best example of how shitty today's industry has become. They've taken this innovative and interesting series and "capitalized" upon it... Until it's only a shadow of the innovation and originality it used to be. Screw you Activision, from the bottom of my heart.
