Most of us who were here remember it being 8.9 because it was so close to a 9.0. I remember the outrage. That forum, specific to TP, was incredibly busy with speculation, hype, etc. Really great forum.

The outrage was even higher when the other sites started pouring in reviews, and you start seeing 10s. Fun day at the office for Jeff.

The better comparison for me would be Zelda. But I very much love the story driven games too. I like diversity in my games.

But imo, the Pokemon games have not been very good. How there hasn't been a fantastic, open world, single title (not 2 different colours), with enhanced graphics and gameplay, is a damn mystery to me.

Edit: and these sales only further the sale of games like this.
