@texasgoldrush - I may not agree with you about story, but I do agree with you about the criticism. If your not going to be constructive why even bother commenting? By all means tell us what you didn't like, but include why. Maybe even toss a suggestion or 2 in with it. "I hate this game" and "I sent it back" doesn't aid in anyway... Tell us why you hated it, and for god sakes give something you did like, if anything at all. It aids in knowing what should and shouldn't be present in the next entry in series.

I've read all the comments since I last commented, and I've heard a lot of comments on how the "good" the story was. I'm sorry, but it wasn't all that great. I mentioned this in my previous comments. There is no arc. You literally end up following golden arrows around until suddenly climax. I did enjoy playing, and I did become attached to 2 of my companions, and upon second play through i had a very rough time not including them in my party as often. Isabella and Aveline. I enjoyed the banter while running around, but the story is nothing to be praised. You really have to read the journal to get the flow. Any RPG that makes it necessary to read your completed journal to comprehend the flow of the story. Isn't telling much of a story. The start of the game was the best part for me. I liked escaping the dark spawn. I knew where the story was going, and I really felt a sense of "HOLY CRAP" when the ogre appeared and crushed... well i don't want to add spoilers, but wow. After the prologue it just deteriorated in terms of story and excitement.... Final thought - I LOVED when Aveline called me out for selling Wesley's shield to a merchant years after it had happened.

@Revanchists, "It is a great disappointment but there is absolutely no reason to criticize it constantly" yes, there is a need to criticize it constantly. If it isn't criticized how will they know that it needs a good old fashion fixing? I'm not trying to single you out in anyway, but the gamers that spent money on this product have a right to have their voices heard. If I bought a blender that said it could crush ice. I would return it if it couldn't. I'm not at all implying that we should all return our copies, but I am saying if you have issues with a product after spending your hard earned money on it. By all means, please let your voice be heard. It's the only way the developer will know what is liked, and what isn't.

(continued due to character constraint) This game is a major disappointment in lines of story as well. It has none of the background, arcs, nor even the cute little descriptions that come at the bottom of your item stat pop ups (I miss those). I literally had no idea when things were about to climax. I simply end up following around golden pointers, and exploring already visited areas for access to even more golden pointers. I do like a more action oriented combat system, but not at the expense of detail, story, and well almost anything resembling depth. Through my many complaints at very least I can honestly say that my companion's lips and teeth look better than they did in DA:O. On a final note I actually enjoyed not having to manage my companions attire. I never did like how my companions needed my aid to dress them. They are all supposedly experienced adventurers and the like. I don't think an experienced adult adventurer needs me to ensure they wear the best gear. I would however enjoy the option to "suggest" it... By force if needed. After all you should have the choice to be a jerk to your friends.

I enjoy DA:2. I have to look past several things, but I can do it. I have a great many complaints about the game, as does everyone it seems. I did enjoy some minor things about DA:2. The majority of my complaint is for every minor change I did like. I lost several fairly major RPG aspects that I loved. I think it was an interesting change going from crossing territory to crossing time, but 3 year increments with only minor differences in scenery? When we first bring Merrill to Kirkwall she says "By the dread wolf, why is..." 3 years later when i visit her house on a whim again she only says, "By the dread wolf, why is..." ... Merrill, my dear sweet... elf. Are you telling me that you've been saying the exact same line for 3 years? This is a very minor example of the lack of change that's present in a 3 year stretch. (written with haste at 7:30 am) If you travel so far forward in time. The very least of your responsibility should revolve around at least a minor change with a major character. Unfortunately, this minor example extends to the vast majority of the game. It's difficult for me to imagine that in a whole of 3 years the only viable change is the placement of a few crates and resources. Even after a myriad of choices i have made differently. I have found that all and all. The out-come of the game stays the same. If you don't have the time and resources to determine major changes in a game that spans 7 years. My suggestion is to simply cover more territory, not time.

I have both a ps3 and 360, I'm an x-boy. I love the 360, but i will still defend the playstation by saying the price isn't all that bad will all the built in features. If Microsoft had included built-in features the price would be very high also. Both consoles have made a fine product, and while sony did make a few mistakes; It is incredibly unfair to say that it's an inferior product, because the playstation isn't just a console anymore, It's a key part of my entertainment center, However when i feel like sitting back and gaming it's the 360 i pick 9/10 times. It's not fair to call the 360 a crap box either because as far as console gaming is concerned, it is out manuvering the ps3. One last thing, before you put down either of the consoles, OWN it. Don't base judgements upon others opionions, be original and create your own judgements before blasting a product you have yet to try.
