Is this still actively developed?

- User ratings are nowhere to be found on site, except for a drop-down filter in Reviews and hardwired links - maybe a nice button in the user dashboard? There's plenty of space, really.

- Rating listing has improved, however I'm still seeing some ratings (on multi-platform games) being attributed to the wrong platform - any chance of being able to edit that?

- Default stacks are still irremovable as far as I can see - will this ever change? Why does my profile have to bear these ugly empty things if they are unused and they offer no extra functionality to something I can create myself? Why MUST I have a "games I'm playing| stack if it doesn't offer any extra functionality?

- Speaking of stacks and extra functionality - the default stacks just uselessly take up space (even if you use stacks at all) - why not make them update dynamically based on user actions? - "Games I've played" could be equivalent to the games that appear in "ratings". Ideally, I'd see this feature in this page - http://www.gamespot.com/profile/reviews/?show=ratings - create a filter, create an automated stack - see it update by itself over time with games I've rated on site - great.

Again, please see some of the Gamespot staff and their stacks - they're mostly useless right now.

@edgework: OK, first of all - I truly appreciate your effort to keep up with everyone's suggestions and I'm immensely satisfied that someone is hearing our grievances and is working to solve them. It's no small task.

Kinda have to wonder why you guys rushed in with the new site launch only to receive such backlash, though.

Back on topic, my two cents:

  • Separate section: http://www.gamespot.com/profile/ratings and separate menu button - you've still got space
  • self updating "Games I've rated" stacks - yeah, great
    • but instead of "Games I've rated", why can't this be the already existing "Games I've played"? I mean really.. does anyone out there rate a game without first playing it? Or would anyone on this site actually take the time to track all their played games by manually adding games to another stack, when you could just tick off a quick rating for it? This is what I do, and the "games I've played" stack is useless to me - I can't even get rid of it.
    • Sure, there are going to be a few misses, and a lot of people won't use this feature for how it was intended - but it's a lot better than what your currently proposing. Why would you separate "games I've played from ratings? Reviews are still better suited for in depth, and ratings are given to games you've played - even for 5 min - it's still an opinion, even if it's shallow (based on the first 5 minutes).
    • If this idea (understandably) cannot be pushed to all users across Gamespot (some people like their "games I've played" this way), can I at least have the option to - the main problem with stacks is their so clunky and slow. Manually input 300 games into "games I've played stacks" - KILL ME NOW.
    • Even if you fix the whole site overnight and it starts loading fast sand smooth - 90% of people aren't gonna input more than 30+ games per stack, people. You're gonna have some "Favorite games", "Summer Wishlist", "Games I play with grandma" & "Co-Op favorites" for stacks - that kind of thing. That dude with ~6000 ratings has no use for the "Games I've played" stack, though. I mean, really, what's he gonna do? - spend 2 minutes of his time every single time he wants to add one game at a time to fancy list nobody but him will ever see?
    • Ratings are much more useful anyway - simply because they appear on game pages - it's the "Ah, I've played this thing, and I've given it a 5 - yeah, it was crap, now I remember" kind of thing.
    • Maybe we could have a better though solution to properly feed our stacks content from somewhere else? Maybe I'd like my ratings to feed content into some custom stacks, my ratings in another - "mediocre shooters I've rated" - this might be something interesting.
    • Otherwise, they're gonna be left empty and useless by 85% of the Gamespot population. Check out Danny O'Dwyer's Stacks, man - those things are ancient content and I don't see him updating them anytime soon. Nobody's gonna properly use them, because it's just to much of a headache - without a proper forwarding/feeding system at least
    • again, will we at least be able to remove the stacks that we're not using from our profiles?

Current ratings listing:

  • still buggy - I've got "Tomb Raider something something editon" listed next to "Sims (DVD)". Can we do some title cleanups or something?
    • some games won't load thumbnail images, that that are loaded are horribly pixelated/blurred/both, and I've noticed duplicate listings
  • is actually taking up more space than stacks - when this should (at least for now) be more of a simple list\
  • yes, filtering by platform is a must - including stacks
  • please list average user rating + Gamespot offical rating next to each personal rating (may with half the font size) - would be quite useful

Thank you.

+1

Either bring this back or it's start from scratch again on some other site for me.
