OK - this game does not give you hints. You figure stuff out and you go on the forums to learn.

Purchased DD vanalia day 1. Now I'm on this and I'm learning all sorts of things. I thought I'd start a thread that shares useful information with the community.

This is what I've learned thus far -SOME SPOILERS - not story related - MAY BE BELOW

- Under "Other" you collect these things called "Bitterblack Novelty Lv. I, II or III." These are important. You take them to the woman who brought you on the boat to Bitterblack and they turn into rare items - sometimes they turn into nothing. I recently got a ring that gives me +28 strength as well as silence resist 17.

- Rarefy - this is for items that have the little dragon symbol to the upper left of your gear. You take this to the guy you first meet on Bitterblack, he upgrades this gear to another level. Although finding materials can be difficult.

- Some treassure chests eat you. And kill you. If you're feeling suspicious about a certain chest, have your pawn open it.

- I've come across two enemies where I deal no damage. I'm not sure why at this point. My character should be able to do damage - I'm lvl 80 with Savage Fang +2 using the ten shot until I'm out of stamina and I deal zero damage. I'm guessing I'm missing something here....

I'm starting to think that because the PS3 is on BluRay the tex pack is already installed ... playing now and the game looks crisp.

I'm reading about a second disc? Just picked this up for the PS3, had the first one.

How do I install the texture pack? I hit triangle on the disc before booting it up and didn't see an install option.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Do you have a Sony tv?

Hey all - 

So, I got DD on Day 1. I was SALTY as hell when I heard the DLC was gonna be an indvidual game and would sell for $40. No thank you I said, despite wanting it. 

However, Gamestop is having a promo - trade any game in and get 50% toward a USED game. 

I traded:

Dragon's Dogma

Gran Turismo 

Pro Evolotion Soccer 2011

*** AND I BOUGHT ***

Some Playstation Move game for a $1.97. 

Immediatly after, I retruned everything (you can return a used game at Gamestop within 7 days, I believe) and got to keep the 50% bonus. Add the fact I'm a rewards member and I got a total of $38 for my trade ins. 

I don't play the last two games and what's the point of holding onto DD when the new, better one is coming out?

Also, as a game collector (I called the Xenoblade price jump before it was released), I can see this being rare - only so many copies will be printed and the $40 tag might go up. 

So there. Go trade in your DD and some crappy games toward the purchase of a $2 crappy game, return them, then buy the new DD!
