Hello, i had this problem a month or so ago after an update with Internet Explorer 9.

Whenever i attempt to post on a message board, topic, reply, quote etc. The message will not appear and i am met with the "messages cannot be blank must contain non-whitespace characters" or words to that effect.

Now i found the solution before to be the compatability issue which stopped me from posting, so i quickly added Gamespot.com to the compatability list and everything was fine again.

However yesterday it suddenly stopped working and no longer shows me a blue broken page icon in my address bar. This means i now get the error message i typed above as it doesn't recognise any pathways.

Does anyone know how this can be fixed, I'm using firefox to post this at the moment buti have a mass of other linked sites and such on IE9 so its more efficient for me to be able to do this on there.

Anyhelp is much appreciated and apologies if there is a better board to be posting this on. This one just seems to be able to give me the most help.

Thanks.

Ok, first of all you'll need a small phillips head (+) screw driver and a triwing, you could alternativly buy a triwing set off ebay or amazon and it should give both.

Follow a walk through to show you how to get to the main parts of the wii. from here you should see the drive and its encasement. There will be 5 triwing screws holding the guard and pins which keep the disc in place on it. Unscrew them and you should be able to put it to one side (just do not snap the tape thing which is a sort of semiconductor paper which transfers the data to the disc holder thing. From here you should easily be able to get the cardboard out.

Reverse all the steps. (Believe me once you've opened it once you never forget.) And that should put it back in working order

Hello.

I'm having a few problems with my wii console (bought it on release day) It has been sent off to nintendo once before now. (It was due to that format thing which crashed quite a few wii's) but i'm now having problems again.

My first problem was an annoying sound and overheating. I opened up the console (yes i voided the waranty whoop-de-doo, it would have ran out anyways by now) and fixed the noise by raising the metal using a piece of folded tape. it stopped and worked fine.

the newest problem has just occured today during a playthrough on twilight princess. The wii made a high pitched noise as the disc spun and before my reflexes could hit the power button. it stopped reading the disc. I switched it off and ejected the disc. Tried to get it to be read. it wouldn't. So i took it apart again to look for a possible cause of the problem.

When i can see the disc as its inserted, it tries to spin but gets stuck. (It makes a "clacking" sound) the motor seems to work fine. On another note i've noticed my laser glows red when trying to read the disc and does not move. The connector to it does. However the module itself doesn't. My instincts tell me the laser has bitten the dust. However i cannot fathom why

Please could you tell me your thoughts and or possible soloutions.

Also i intend for this topic to be usedby anyone else with problems also. If their is already a board/topic set up and active, could you point me in their direction.

Any help appreciated. Thanks. (Also if all else fails i'm not replacing the laser. Its too much time and money, I'd much rather by a new wii for £79 and its job done.)
