Brains...?

by on

I don't even know how to begin. It kind of boggles the mind that I've been away from here for so long. Over two years?

No idea if any of my friends are even still around, but I would like to reconnect with everyone if possible. I miss you guys a lot.

I had obligations here that I sincerely apologize for ignoring... I'm not even sure where it all went wrong. I'd like to come back and start posting and interacting with everyone again, really. Just know that I'm sorry for hanging all of you out to dry like that. I kind of feel awful tbh.

If anyone I used to hang out with doesn't frequent here often anymore but happens across this and would like to reconnect with me, drop me a quick PM. I'll be at the ready with my Skype, AIM, or Facebook. And of course I still have the old 360 so if you haven't added me you can do that too, gamertag is shadowXsora. I've gone wireless so I'm online pretty much all the time, in one way or another. If I'm at home that is.

Hoping to hear from at least some of you. :)

Quick RAGE and Run

by on

First, ice storms fail. It had to knock out just OUR internet, didn't it? And of course we were the last ones to get it fixed 'cause we live out in the sticks. FML.

Second, my rage is actually directed at GameStop. I went there a couple of days ago and I tried to buy Fable 3. The ONE TIME I'm completely by myself, they decide that they want to card me. Because of circumstances beyond my control, I haven't been able to get an ID, so I pretty much got screwed.

Mind you, this is the exact same store that I bought Assassin's Creed Brotherhood from NOT THREE WEEKS AGO (I was by myself in the store, but my aunt was at the mall with me so I'd have been able to bring her in if something happened that day), and they didn't ask me then. Okay, I understand that they have to observe regulation and whatever, but it just pisses me off that they're not consistent, and the one time I needed them NOT to ask me, they asked me. RAGE.

3DS + Dream Drop Distance

by on

I imagined that the 3DS was going to hit my wallet, but I didn't think it'd do it quite as hard as it's going to. Hell, I could buy a PS3 for the $250 that thing's going to cost, and that's not counting the games I'll get for it.

That said, however, I'm still going to buy one. I'll probably get a black one, for the simple fact that I don't really like the blue one. I know there will almost certainly be other colors, but usually when there's a choice I defer to black. In fact, when I bought my GameCube I made sure to tell the GS guy that if they had a black one I wanted it. And it so happened that they did. xD

I watched the trailer for Dream Drop Distance a moment ago and I've become very excited to get my hands on it. Those of you who have known me for a while probably know why. I love Riku, and I've always ranted and raved that I'd love to play a game as him. I don't feel like Chain of Memories really counted either 'cause I didn't like the card system. xD

Also, the combat looks flipping amazing. I was cackling maniacally when I saw it 'cause I can't wait to pull off some of those moves. I'm not really easily entertained by combat in games either, so that says something. I think I just like to be able to destroy lots of enemies at a time. That would explain why I like Dynasty & Samurai Warriors when sometimes the games leave something to be desired.

This may be my last quick update before we get things straightened out here with my internet and everything. We're cleaning and moving things around today, so I assume we'll do that too. :P

Now XIII-2?

by on

It's strange how excited I got at the news of a sequel to Final Fantasy XIII, considering I haven't even finished it yet. I've gotten about halfway through, and I really like the characters, so another game would be pretty cool, I think. As long as it doesn't turn out to be completely random and weird like X-2, I'll be happy. xD

I watched the trailer and I think Lightning's armor looks pretty sick... and I want to know who that dude is she was fighting.

And I also watched the secret ending for RE:Coded and I must say: Mind. Blown. Gah, they always know how to hook us for the next game with these damn ending movies.

I have links for these if anyone wants to see them. :P

Obligatory 2011 Update

by on

The first part of this is cross posted from my deviantart, just so you know.

Well, so far this year has been... weird.

In just these first 12 days I've moved, lost a cat, and gained four dogs.

I was devastated when my cat passed away two days ago. I had him for ten very good years, and I loved him. He was always there for me even when the humans in my life had abandoned me. I'm happy at least that I got to see him one last time before we lost him, when I went to my dad's house three days ago to get my things to officially move to where I am now.

I didn't get to tell him goodbye, because it was a very sudden happening that I didn't expect at all, but I know he knows I loved him and still do, so that's enough for me. I'll miss him a lot, but at least I have a lot of good memories of him.

And now I have four rowdy dogs to help look after, so that's easing the pain a bit as well. They annoy the hell out of me at times, but they're generally good dogs, so I can't really complain.

I'm sort of limited in what I can do right now because my computer battery only lasts so long, and until we rearrange the internet setup, I only have about an hour and a half at a time before I have to disconnect and charge it. After that, I promise I'll start helping with things around here again, since I am still free as far as that goes. Looking into possibly doing online college cl@sses and still looking for work, but no change really yet.

I wanted to do a reboot of Shadow's Show, which was my big holiday plan, for those who were wondering. But now I've tested everything and realized that the mic in my laptop isn't as good as I thought it was, so I'm going to have to go buy one before I can do that.

I plan to buy a headset because I've been wanting to do Let's Plays for a while now, and it seems easier to have a headset for that. Of course, I'll have to buy a really good gaming computer for that as well because my laptop's really average when it comes to games. It barely wants to do 3D most of the time.

Well... crap.

I had this super special awesome holiday thing planned, but now I won't be able to do it 'cause GS is having video glitches right now.

So if I don't make it back here before I disappear in the woods for a week or two, have a good holiday, everybody. I have some stuff planned in the next little while, so I will be back sooner rather than later. :P

Insanity.

YOUGUYS, YOUGUYS, OMG.

They just announced ELDER SCROLLS V AND MASS EFFECT 3 at the VGAs. Two games I'm looking forward to like nobody's business, REVEALED ON THE SAME DAY? I nearly squee'd to death. :o

11/11/11 for TES V, and Holiday '11 for ME3. I CAN'T FRIGGING WAIT.

And uh... hi? How are you guys? What did I miss? xD;

LIARAAAA (& Morrigan)

by on

My god, you guys. I'm surprised I'm even still alive to type this blog, I fangirled so hard today.

Lair of the Shadow Broker was super amazing, as I expected it would be. I was SO happy to even get to visit Liara again and work with her, but when I found out that the intel about being able to continue the romance wasn't just a rumor like I thought, my happiness spiked through the roof. And I cannot even tell you how many times I squealed at cute moments. I love her so much it's borderline insane at times. xD

And Witch Hunt was also really awesome. You guys know I really like Morrigan too, so closing out her plotline was something I wanted to do, along with my seemingly being obsessed with getting all the Dragon Age DLC. I've got a couple more to go before I have them all, but I'm sure I eventually will. :P

The references in both DLCs cracked me up. I have to give it to BioWare, that stuff was placed just right so it'd be funny. Like this one from Witch Hunt (which is paraphrased since I can't be arsed to play through again right now to get it exactly):

"I wish I had a dog. Too bad we're not allowed to have pets in the tower."

"Don't you remember the incident with the dragons? There's still bits of Ivan burned into the ceiling."

"I mean normal pets, like dogs, cats, owls, you know, that sort of thing."

"What kind of a mage has an owl for a pet?"

And then this one from LotSB:

[While Liara's unlocking a door]

"Hey Liara, remember the old days when you could just slap omnigel on everything?"

"That security upgrade made quite a few people unhappy."

I disappear for forever again, and I come back to fanspaz on you all. How typical.

Swooping is bad.

by on

Gosh, I love Alistair.

I've just started my third Dragon Age game, a dual wielding male Elf if you were curious. :P

But that's not what I wanted to talk about. You guys could probably tell by the influx of new games that I got my paycheck. I also bought a new hard drive for my 360, a 120GB. I haven't transferred my stuff over to it yet since I forgot to get a cable, but I will soon.

And I just found out this morning that my DS is broken, so I'll have to buy a new one when the other check comes. I'll probably get a Lite. At least something to hold me off until the 3DS comes out.

Top 25 VG Characters - #1.

by on

1. Liara T'Soni - Mass Effect series

Yeah, I know. Probably not the choice most of you were expecting. But as this IS my list of the current top 25 (even though it's already out of date) of course Liara would have to be on it. Anyone who's been anywhere near me in the past like six months knows that I completely just adore her. Even people in my every day life, I'm always shouting about it.

She is just too cute. And obviously from the picture you can see her badassery. xD I'm not quite sure what to think about what they did with her in ME2, but I want to have faith that they'll put everything right. Perhaps in the recently announced DLC which I will absolutely be buying on day one. :P
