What in the...something's not right there. 600W-rated PSU, two +12V rails, 18A each for a total of 36A. Then there's my PCP&C Silencer 610, rated at-you guessed it-610W, which has a single +12V rail carrying 49A. No way that 10W could result in such a massive difference-something has to be radically different with how those wattage ratings are calculated. If that SemiAccurate article is right about the 42A requirement for GTX 480, then that PSU isn't going to cut it. I have my doubts given the rampant anti-NVIDIA slant that source has, but it's still something to keep in mind. I'd rather not find out the hard way, and just get a nicer PSU to begin with (though not something completely overkill like 1KW).NamelessPlayer

Why would you get a GTX 480. Yout CPU is AMD, why not get an AMD GPU????landogg69

Will it make a big difference if I go with a amd gpu? Plus the 480 is coming out soon I would like to see how it performs on benchmarks. Its $600 I would like to spend it well too.
