This is like going to your favourite eatery, ordering the fat, juicy, blood-dripping steak and loving every mouthful. Always leaving fulfilled and tipping generously. Then one day, a few vegetarians start eating there and enjoy the small pickings from a selective vegetarian menu. Everyone is happy. Then one day a vegan decides to eat there, but rather let the vegetarian and meat eaters enjoy their meals, kicks up a massive fuss (cos animals/diary etc.) whereby the chef decides to ditch the veggie and meat dishes and goes for a completely vegan menu. Once this happens the vegetarians and meat eaters alike decide to eat elsewhere, never to return...as does the vegan.

@Fooljeff: Maybe so, but the rest might just have some principles.

I think the real issue here is Koei Tecmo seemingly taking away player choice in an attempt to create a reputation for the DOA series it does not have and frankly imo will never have. The series is too many games in now, to change it to suit more family friendly audiences or to fall in line with esports. I can see why they might want to do this, but at the expense of alienating fans is saddening.

What they should be doing is widening their nets by allowing players the choice to unlock skimpy outfits at home or toggle breast physics if they desire - or better yet create a new fighting game series for the esports. I seriously believe a number of folks/fans will simply boycott this and play SOUL CALIBUR VI instead which seems to have no qualms with its heritage.

In addition, I really don't agree with the double standard here that Koei Tecmo has no issues showing off near naked ripped men in their announcement video but want to desexualize the women. If you're going to remove sexualization of characters then do it equally for the men and women characters lest you appear like pandering to a specific subset of minority whingers who have no intention of enjoying, buying or playing your game.
