This is a very elaborate marketing ploy. Both Sony and Ellen Page knew that Quantic Dream was going to do this, and they knew it would get "leaked". Look at how much attention this game is getting. Do you really think these companies care about anything other than their balance sheet?

Also this is the first time I've seen an internet video filmed in HFR. Looks good, I like it, hopefully HFR gets brought to all our cell phones and cameras one day.

@hystavito Wrong, Bioshock Infinite received a 9.0 initially, and then a 4.0 in its Other Take.

@SurfaceNerd Doesn't change the fact that these records are redundant. A line in the sand needs to be drawn otherwise you will get records like the one I posted about.

This article and the number of records is arbitrary and pointless. Think about it, you can make a world record out of anything and any variable. GTA V has broken millions of records, such as:

Best selling video game with the ability to drive

Highest grossing third person shooter

Highest revenue in a game with a homicidal maniac in it

Best selling game in 24 hrs

Best selling game in 25 hrs

You get my point.

I don't know what rock you are living under, but piracy has been the norm for the last 10 years.

This is our chance to show the world that DRM free is the way to go. Support CDPR and BUY THIS GAME on release day. It's not like you won't also receive an AWESOME physical copy of the game with lots of goodies in it.

@thequickshooter Your analogy is terrible. Bread is tangible and a limited supply, if a piece of bread is missing, someone somewhere will notice and of course if you can't afford it in the first place then you should not steal it.

Software on the other hand has an infinite supply, if one copy gets pirated, no one will notice, and finally if you can't afford it, then pirating will have no effect on sales either way, in fact it might actually have a POSITIVE effect (if the game is good) since maybe this poor person will tell someone with money how good the game is, and then via word of mouth, produce a sale.

EA could learn a thing or two from CDPR. Same goes for all the people crying about pirates and how it is hurting the industry. Think of it this way:

SimCity has always online DRM and sells 1 million copies on launch, gets pirated 0 times.

The Witcher 2 has no DRM and sells 1.7 million copies on launch, gets pirated 5.2 million times (wild estimate).

The loser in this situation is quite obvious. Not only did SimCity sell far less at launch, but EA has to pay out of the ass to keep their crappy DRM servers running. How much do you think that will cost them in a year?

They might even LOSE money on SimCity, all due to DRM. EA CEO had to step down after screwing it up so badly.
