Thanks for the help. I think I will just be a warrior first and study magic as I progress later. It seems like this game would require a lot of strength at the end :)

Cool, thanks. I'll have to try that. Can mages at least use daggers in the beginning with a somewhat good startingstat?

I'd like to roleplay a mage who learns the ways of a warrior. However, I'm not sure if it is possible. I'd expect I'd be weaker but that is the idea. I'm also curious if one can win the game by doing that. Any idea, or should I just skip it and be a warrior who learns magic along the way? i know there's battlamage, etc. but I'm not interested in taking an initial blended class. Thanks.

I recently bought a laptop for college. It works fairly well for most games that I play. One of them that I would like to get back into is Morrowind. I did some testing with it and the game runs smoothly at 1024x864. The only problem I'm having is that doors in Syda Neen flickers and stops when I walk close to it. I am also seeing clothing flicker outside, and while inside they do not flicker. I have a mobile Intel 945GM. The game runs great but I'm just having trouble finding a solution in getting rid of the flicker. Are there any known mods or fixes for this, or is the xbox just my best bet? Thanks.

[QUOTE="MTBare"]All faith will be lost in blizzard if it's a MMO.eitremn

Agreed. They should really start making good games again.

WoW is good. actually its fantastic

WOW is a dumbed down, simple MMORPG, with a very pretty opening cinematic, and the Blizzard name slapped on it.

You should get your head out of your rear because at the time of its release there weren't many MMOGs that were more complex.

I know you must think WOW is complex since it must clearly be your first MMORPG, but maybe you should at least recognize that Ultima Online, Dark age of Camelot, and Everquest  were all way more complex than WOW. Do you have your own houses in WOW?

If WOW was complex it wouldn't of sold as much as it did. It really catered to the casual gamers.

i agree that wow isn't that complex, but why does it need to be?  it's not the only MMO out there ya know, if you don't like it's simplicity then what you need to do is plain and clear, don't play it.  go play eve online, that's complex, or so i hear anyway.  i got so bored after going through the tutorial of that game that i couldn't stand to play it for another minute.  the thing i like about wow is that a casual gamer such as myself has a chance in that game.  not all of us have 8 hrs/day to dedicate to a video game.  so it's nice to have wow as an option!

When was WoW suppose to be complex? It was meant for casual gamers.

I talked to various developers on this issue. Either A) They are going to stick with Dx9 for several more years to get the majority of sales, or B) Go to OpenGL because Dx10 is narrowing the market potential for their titles. Believe me, even the king of 3d graphics (john carmack) has no care for Dx10 right now. It is the least cared-for API in DirectX's releases. MS wants you to care for some strange reason.. wonder why.. it just comes down to you being an idiot and have no idea why you need it other than someone tells you you have to have it now. You're a consumer, and Microsoft will get the $$$ out of your wallet to obtain a useless iteration of DirectX 10.

I don't think that will clear up the misinformation.

I'm an independent/commercial game developer and I thought I'd clear out the anger. DirectX 10 is based on hype way too much. Microsoft wants to advertise it as something bigger than life because guess what else they are trying to sell? Vista. They want you to believe you need DirectX 10 but no game is using it besides MS-kissers at the moment. Microsoft is just trying to sell their next operating system. DirectX 10 doesn't offer much and it shouldn't matter to a gamer/consumer. Just use what your favorite game recommends and you'll be happy. Aka they are all dx9 or opengl right now. Just understand that MS is advertising DirectX 10 which in effect is advertising Vista. DirectX 10 drivers are still hard to find, and Vista supports DirectX 9 internally too (it's what renders the screen and previous games). I have Vista and I like it, but I think Microsoft has no choice but to find e very possible way to advertise Vista and that right now sadly includes advertising DirectX 10. It does nothing for the consumer right now.
