Interesting comments... and i agree on many points. But just because a 'gamerscore' doesn't mean anything to you, you don't have to go expressing your view to the world. When it comes down to basics... all games mean nothing, any game you complete, any level or boss you beat will not mean much to other people in the future. There are games such as 'the sims', where you play just for the fun of playing, with no 'real' point... Individuals take certain things away from games, what they think is important, and that's what matters most. Each to their own. My character reached lvl 99 in diablo 2... then i created a new one. I built a giant mansion and became a millionaire in "the sims 2". I completed ninja gaiden on the hardest difficulty. All these things may be meaningless to you... but i've taken what i want from them, and that's what matters. Being able to attach a number to these 'achievements' may be great for some people, but to others it may be just as meaningless as the 'achievement' itself. You could post comments one how people shouldn't buy games just to increase their 'meaningless' gamerscore, but honestly, whats the point? Those who agree with you will not... but there are some who enjoy earning achievement points, whether or not the act of getting the points is fun or not. And i'm sure they will continue to buy games solely for achievement points, because that's important to them, they find it fun. I'm not religious, but you don't see me telling religious folk that praying is a waste of their time. As the song goes... live and let live (or is it live and let die... hmm)
Some ppl are way too critical. I love the feature, especially the video... laughed so hard when i watched that one. It's not particularly my cup of tea, but it's great to know that features such as this are available to those who are interested... everyone who has a problem with it... i guess just don't read it...
