Get lost Gamespot. The Reapers are a multi-tier construction that Bioware has strung together beautifully. The fact that "little" is known about them directly is a result of how powerful a force they are that they transcend all civilization. In this sense, Bioware has raised them to the height of gods and effectively made them into an enemy of such fierce magnitude that defeating them is unimaginable. Not only this but so much is known about the reapers through their trail: the conversion of Protheans into Collectors, their somewhat cowardly indoctrination technique and their construction of the citadel to draw in the citizens of the galaxy. All of these factors allow the gamer to understand that the Reapers are indeed beyond anything the galactic civilization is capable of fighting. They are a delicate enemy who prefer to strike from the shadows and only involve themselves when it is completely neccessary. Devious and calculating, you would have to be entirely emotionless to not feel an adrenaline rush when you come into contact with them. The Reapers are one of the finest villains in the history of anything.

Yep that is completely true. There is just a few insane people out there that are destroying the perceived image of gamers.
