I guess the game industry has to grow through it's set of scandals too. Too bad it went down that way. I said it in comments before, all this is being handled really badly, rumors and speculations hurt a lot. But usually when you fire someone "on the spot" (no pun intended) it's because they made something against company policy and you have no choice than to terminate them now. Otherwise, you give them a final notice and a note that says when their services are not required anymore.
I expect a press release that will disclose the FULL truth about this. Rumors are never a positive factor. Gamespot is not the only one to blame. CNET implication in this will not be forgotten.
I played Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence for some time. But I never got involved to the point I play FPS online... I pretty much wasted money on a wireless bridge to connect to my network (considering MSG3.5 online support has ended).
