I've never owned a home console or handheld before, but always had games on my PC's, and I've recently caved and bought a DSLite yesterday. So far, I'm enjoying myself. :)

I loved the Dreamcast and its games, even though I didn't own one.. but my friend did.

Love the DC version of Rayman 2 over the PC version. :D

My only real complaint is that the controller was like a frisbee.

I only really upgrade or puchase a new PC when games I want to play aren't compatible with my system anymore, like Bioshock. And I always consider it to be a better deal than spending my money on a console, since I design graphics for websites and 2D games anyway.

I actually expected to hate Vista to no end, and I'd just install XP back on my computer... but then it turned out to be more stable than I thought. :\ Actually, I've never had it crash or fail me once, even before Service Pack 1. My only problems with it are that (with aero on) it out-pretties all your programs (lol), and then my Logitech Dual Action Gamepad doesn't seem to work with some programs.

Well, only if you seem to see a lot of tearing and it bugs you. I generally leave it off in HL2, but I have it switched on in Prey because I can't stand the game without it.

And your computer will handle it just fine.

It didn't seem worth the money to me when I tried it out. I could just get the same fast-paced action off a free game like Nexiuz or Warsow. Maybe if the price drops below $20, I'll snatch it. I just don't think it's worth full price.

It's a setting that causes a game to hold off on drawing in the event that the refresh rate of the monitor is not a ratio of the game's fps rate. If you have a reasonably fast video card, it'll handle it just fine. My Radeon 9600 handled it okay in Half-Life 2.

You should mostly just turn it on in the event that you notice a lot of tearing.

And example is when you see part of one scene on the top part of your monitor while you see a part of another on the bottom. Most often, you won't need to bother with it, but it's nice to switch on in cases.
